(( Generally, I don't erase posts, as it feels dishonest and cowardly to do so, to hide mistakes, but it was suggested to me in the RP/Story chat thread to do so. I did so on behalf of the RP's standards. ))

That sounds incredibly dull.
” Kira commented, frowning. Playing nice among anyone wasn’t something that she typically did, especially when those people happened to be ones that already knew who and what she was. “
Still, I'll do it for you. You've given me plenty of...incentives.

Interestingly enough, she wasn't talking about what her tone seemed to indicate. Soahc's monstrous visage was not at all appealing to her, and even though what he did counterbalanced that she wouldn't quite enjoy the act if her partner was not pleasing to her eye. That wasn't a secret, either, for she made no effort to conceal her opinion on the matter, and if Soahc cared at all he hadn’t brought it up. Besides, if he really wanted her, she knew he could change his shape, although being accommodating was not something she expected of a being like him. That was a pity, for she was sure it would be quite an interesting experience. She had slept with commoners, adventurers, princes and princesses, and all those in between, but never with a god.

Truthfully, she hoped that he had indeed outdone himself. The promise that had been made – although she was no stranger to broken promises – required quite a bit of successful plotting, and while she still was not sure if he could even accomplish it he was the best chance she would ever get to bring about her goal. The common man would never accept it, and although they could do nothing themselves there were always people that could. One or two groups were within her capabilities, but she could not afford to have an entire world unite against her. The power of fire that coursed through her was vast, beyond the capabilities of any other on this world, but even she was not arrogant enough to believe that there were no limits to what she could do on her own. She needed something to amplify the scope of her designs, and these plots were the best thing she had come across yet.

There had been many steps along the way, of course, the most notable being the trip with John Black into the Underworld. He hadn’t been the only one to profit from it, the circumstances allowing her to snag some demonic energies for herself. The demon hadn’t exactly been willing to give them up, she had convinced it that she was the one more worthy of such power. It had supplemented her energy reserves and increased her resistance to everything besides fire – for which she already had an immunity – which had been two aspects of herself that had been limiting in many regards. It had also twisted her mind even further beyond what it had already been, making her cruel for no apparent reason. She knew that, but had long since dismissed it as an acceptable compromise for power since with the cruelty had come an enjoyment from perpetuating the acts.

Then there had been the deal with the succubus that had granted her the unnatural beauty that she possessed, but that tale wasn’t one she liked to share. The cost had been somewhat more demanding than the other steps, but it had been paid in full and was behind her now.

Soahc’s comment and the rumbling of thunder drew her back to reality, and for just the briefest second she felt something that she hadn’t before. It wasn’t quite fear, but it was something on the way there. Gods weren’t supposed to exist. They were removed from this world because their meddling had gone too far, and it was because they were absent that mortals were able to do what they wished. Soahc’s return was an exception to the rule, but she knew that he had gone through more schemes in order to accomplish the task, something most of the other gods likely would not be able to do. Even with that, he wasn’t a full god, as he had to give up those powers to reside in this world, and that removed everything that would give her this feeling.

The crux of the whole thing was that Gods were beings beyond mortals, beyond what she was. They were creatures that could stop what she was trying to do with a wave of their hand, something nothing on this world could do now. With Gods in play, she had already lost, and that was a future she could not accept. It was something she had never considered before, and because the thought was so foreign and impossible it actually unnerved her. Nothing had ever done that before; not any of her captures or imprisonments, not any of her foes, not even any of the people she had worked with. Mortals were creatures she could defeat, and even immortal demons or other creatures of their ilk did not worry her. They weren’t all-powerful beings like Gods were supposed to be.

Shaking these thoughts from her mind, Kira did not let her thoughts show on her face. That, at least, was something she was good at. The practice of seduction required a good grasp on acting in a way that was contrary to her disposition and an equally good grasp on hiding her true feelings. Soahc seemed to be bothered not at all by the approaching of the stormclouds, and since she judged the exiled gods to be of greater strength than him there shouldn’t be any need for her to be made uneasy by them.

You know,
” she said, her gaze turning to the stormcloud before returning to Soahc a moment later, “
I think I’d like that.

A toothy grin came crossed Ryokin's face he then said as he walked with the hag, "You seem quiet pleasant compared to your sister. My legend hasn't been past down throughout the haunted woods? That is a shame, if I wasn't sealed away by that dreadful archmage, then my name would mean something."

"So there must be a story between you and your sister on why you are so far away from your great mother. It cant just be Soahc that brought you and your sister out here. His claim as demigod do him hardly any justice. Being on this plain of existence, gives him a weakness, in which yet has yet to be revealed." . Ryokin had said

He then saw they were approaching the group, "Oh look the others, this will be fun getting to know everyone again." He laughed a bit as he scanned the group carefully seeing how each person was.
and nothing was spoiled :P

((sorry about the late post my computer decided to die on me))

"Well Rickard it looks like its your lucky day." Desmo said while trying to hold back a smile. "Ive taken on plenty of armies!" He boasted and placed both hands on his hips. "Don't worry ill keep you protected." He held back a laugh. "Since i know your a scaredy cat!" He started to laugh and point. "I can tell thats why you came to me for help!"

Desmond hopped onto the ground and dusted off his worn pants. "As my minion, I need you to fetch me a shirt and bandages... ill pull these out." He said pushing his finger against one of the thorns. "We have no time to waste." The alure of adventure seemed to ease Desmo's pain.

((That's fine Sir Duncan, there's nothing wrong with a little bit of brigand slaying!))

Farmlands

Trolls are known to be fond of many things- cattle and sheep and other livestock, peasants and their maiden daughters, knights in their shining armour and lords on their fat horses, and princesses most of all. A thousand tales told of these things.

There wasn't a single tale about trolls liking demons.

Kuro's aura-fist crashed into the river headlong, his iron-clad will enforced by his half-demon origins and enhanced by his absorption of The Caller of the Demon Hordes himself keeping the full throttle of the torrent at bay.

Meanwhile, Rovaan's own gaping geyser of hellfire ploughed upwards to engage with the stilled water, the two elements colliding and warring against one another for dominance. Fire will fall before water every time, but hellfire could burn eternal. The current began to recede, boiling water turning to harmless steam which fell into the air around it.

Together, the two demonically powered beings were protecting the party from certain doom.

Upriver, or what had once been upriver before the river had uplifted itself, one of the makeshift boats had made it across and the dismounting brigands were approaching. The other boat hadn't reached the other bank in time and had been lifted into the air with the river it was sailing down, forcing the brigands to start jumping to freedom. One broke a leg, and the one after that decided to try swimming against the current to reach land again, until Rovaan's spell boiled the river and him with it. The man's screams were luckily drowned out by the waters which drowned him as he screamed.

"Uh- could the troll always do that?" One of them asked dubiously. None of the others had an answer, but knew they had come too far to turn back now and recommenced their charge.
