Annie
Acquiring a Swiss army knife, she proceeded to unscrewing the bolts of the ventilation cap. Since the facility was rather cheaply and quickly made, the bolts were not tight, and so Annie was able to remove them.
“Where the hell’s security?” a worker pleaded.
“Damn Binary Helix guards, they never do what they’re told!” another whined.
Vent cap open, Annie could now enter the vents.
* * *
While in the vents somewhere, Annie overheard electric noises. It sounded like something bad was happening, but had no way to know what it was so far. If she found ventilation grills somewhere, she may be able to observe what was going on, or simply continue sneaking through the vents.
X7A
She had quite a few issues already: Gabriel’s odd tastes, the deliberate disobedience of the officer... Clearly, those running and guarding the facility did not care about it. She would have to press on even though the guards were not distracted by anything, though their negligent behaviour had some advantages for her.
“Roger that.” Michael quietly radioed back, “I will be initiating a feedback surge soon, just give me a few moments. I will amplify their communications electronics as high as possible, that’s sure to cause some issues. Almost done...” he continued.
Meanwhile, X7A remained out of sight; there was plenty of hiding spots amidst the stacks of crates and containers, some of which X7A scanned were explosive, flammable or filled with volatile chemicals.
Then... no patrol was present thus far.
Then... a few crates here and there began shaking a little. Nearby, one crate’s top opened, and some sort of robot emerged. It looked like:
At several other sections in this floor, scanners detected bandwidth growing, and presumably, more of such robots were emerging from various crates. X7A overheard shouting followed by gunfire, which began echoing. Gunfire was a mix of bullets as well as hissing bursts.
