Runescape has a really wonderful selection of music, but by far and away my favourite is Nex’s ‘Angel of Death’. I remember hearing it for the first time on YouTube and being floored by it – I’ll admit I’m a rubbish PvM-er so I’ve never actually heard it in the context of the fight, but when I do I imagine it’ll be amazing all over again.
Zaros and his followers have some of the most recognisable musical themes in game. ‘Zaros Stirs’ is regularly used as a leitmotif for pretty much anything he’s involved with (a great musical reflection of his character – the god of control and fate, who has strong influence on the lives of his loyalists): ‘Sanctum’, ‘Nightmare at the Cradle’, and the brilliant ‘Elder Daughter’ are just a few. The majority of Zarosian tracks are dark, minor key, ominous – exactly what you expect from a god of such questionable morality and awesome power. Even ‘Angel of Death (Prelude)’ is thick with that atmosphere, with the Zarosian leitmotif hitting about half-way through. I expected this from the full track too.
HOWEVER - ‘Angel of Death’ is completely different, and is brilliant for it. I can’t spot the exact key but, unlike the usual Zarosian tradition, it’s major. It’s heroic, it’s epic, the sort of track you expect to hear for the World Guardian. The major components (the electric riffs, the drums, the strings) have a huge sound to them - a parallel to her new power revealed during the lore book ‘The Promised Gift’. The only obvious reference to the Zaroisan leitmotif is in the vocals at the start, and even then it’s not overt – she’s being musically defined as a character in her own right, influenced by but independent of her creator. And finally, all the way through, we hear a lone female voice soaring above all this massive sound, reminding you that it is just one woman who’s about to kill you – all this power is hers and hers alone.
Tl;dr – Angel of Death is my all-time favourite and I get far too excited when I explain why.
Clan Quest. I co-write @SenntistenWebcomic. Lore, art, and music fan.

Newbie Melody is my favorite, I started playing RS in 2003-04 ish, and me my friends would listen to newbie melody for hours while skilling or fighting waves of zombies in the sewers. When I play that song it Invokes the most innocent of my rs memories of a simpler time when Iwasn't concerned for get best xp/h or getting best drop, just racing my friends to wear rune first or being able to finally smith full steel, or roleplaying around the White knights castle.
If you believe the sky is the limit, why can you see beyond it?

So... My favourite music in RuneScape is Adorno X, it may not be particularly impressive in the first sight, but this music hold a special place in my heart, and here's the reason: I grew up apart from my half siblings and they never were aware of my existence, in 2005 they went to China because our father got a job in Macau and we never had the chance to meet each other. But recently everything changed and they finally knew about my existence, I was playing RS and listening to this song when they simultaneously tried to reach me via social media, I was really shocked and surprised all of sudden, my heart was racing due the music. Basically this song represent the beginning of a new chapter in my life, with my new family (I'm trying not to get all emotional here)

My favorite track has to be Shadow-forger Ihlakhizan. It is just so epic. I remember the days when dungeoneering was challenging and me, my brother, and my dad had to rely on each other to clear rooms. This was one of the most dangerous bosses and this theme conveyed that.

Being a remix of the main dungeoneering theme didn't hurt either. In fact, it may mean something. Shadow-forger wasn't the most lore-significant boss, but the greatest thing about dungeoneering was teaming up with your friends and overcoming something truly terrifying. There are much worse things than orks demons in that labyrinth.

Geeze, a #1 is a hard decision. So many awesome songs.

Black Zabeth from the 2010 holiday event is amazing, and Way of the Enchanter and Gemstone Dragons are equally awesome. And Lullaby and Wending Through the Willow are some of the most beautiful video game songs I've ever heard.

But if I absolutely had to pick a #1 song, it would have to be Newbie Melody. It was one of the first songs I ever heard (on Tutorial Island), and it was so warm and pleasant, and made me feel so welcome to the game. Hearing the song takes me back to some of my fondest memories of Runescape.

My favorite is Book of A Thousand Songs.

My mother and I have been playing Runescape together for over 10 years and we sometimes play this song in the car when we're out together. I just really love the clever lyrics - using other song titles is very fitting - and how several of the Mods came together to make it happen. Beyond the main Scape themes, it's like the spokes-song for Runescape.

Also, it's really fun to sing. :)

My favourite track is Born to Do This. It reminds me of when Dungeoneering was first introduced in 2010, and that was when I came back to Runescape. It was also the best year of RS in my opinion. My name is Malgus Prime, and I send this message to all humans living in fear of getting owned in the wilderness. I am here. I am waiting.
