RuneScape on USB - Part 1

If you ever wanted to play RuneScape 3/OSRS using a flash drive/USB stick (good for computers without Admin rights, below are the steps to do so.

Get the Hikariknight Unix Client and installing it on a USB with some trickery.

Now the client can be used on all machines, Mac/Linux/Windows so the first thing what you will need is a USB/Flash drive with around 4GB of space or more, hopefully you can get your hands on one of them. Then what you can do is get the source code of the client from the link below.
https://github.com/HikariKnight/rsu-client/releases

You can do all of this at home if you wish, or at your work computer if it allows you to, download the folder called "Source Code ZIP" onto your USB and then make sure you extract all the files over to your USB/flash drive in whichever folder you want, for this demonstration I will be calling the folder RuneScape test and E being my flash driver folder.

Once you get the folder above, click it and you will see 3 folders, click into the one that says "RuneScape" then look in that folder for the RuneScape application - this is still on your flash drive.

Click on it and it should bring you to the following screen

Once you hit that screen above, go into where it says "Settings" and you should see a box open up, in that white box, please change where it says "Cache Location" to the 2nd option where it says (Portable).

RuneScape on USB - Part 2

After you have done that you will need to select the Java version, now to do this you will need to be on your work PC, so let's hope you can access the C drive because we need to select the Java version.

To do this go to where it says "Preferred Java to use" in there it will currently say "Default" click the box and then go down to where it says "Custom Java" and then hit the "Browse" button.

Now we have to locate the Java.exe file, depending on the Java version usually Java get's installed into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java
and then you may see one or 2 version in there. Select
jre1.8.0_77
if you see it, if not select whichever jre folder you see.

Then once you have done that go into the bin folder and you should see Java the application so double click on it.

Your settings page should now look like the image below or similar.

Finally you need to scroll down on that settings page until you see the "save script settings" button and then click that, you will need to wait while it updates and once it does you can cross out of that box and hit the big "Play now" button on the side of the Unix client launcher.

Hopefully you will find the Java client starts to load and you can play it directly from a USB now as even the cache will be downloaded on there, if for any reason you can't access the Java folders, you may need to install Java on that USB and to do this I will need to post you another tutorial, but see if you can follow this one first.
