I love the idea of having an official iron man and ultimate iron man mode. I'd probably give a shot at both. But I'm VERY interested in the ultimate mode.
I like the idea of having no bank. I remember seeing someone doing this and calling it the "Andrew Gower" challenge - referencing back to the very early days of Runescape when banks only held coins. I think this should be the function of banks: to only hold coins and nothing else.
I think that one bank restriction (on top of the normal iron man restrictions) is enough to warrant the ultimate mode. Having no teleports and losing everything when you die seems unnecessary to me. Losing everything might be acceptable (except you'd better be careful about safe minigame deaths), but no teleports is a bit brutal.
I've been thinking about ultimate mode and I'm worried most about one thing: Runecrafting. The only feasible method I could imagine to realistically train runecrafting to 99 (as masochistic as it sounds) would be to amass tons of noted essence, either through NMZ or monster drops, and make trips unnoting it at the karamja general store then walking to the nature altar. I really hope buying this essence back wouldn't count as "buying another player's item" since it's really your own item. This could also be done as a food source, for example, picking strawberries that you farmed, getting the leprechaun to note them for you, then unnoting them at a store when you want to heal.
No minigame teleports would make much more sense than simply "no teleports." Please consider that and the issue of unnoting items in a shop.
