Play Ultimate Ironman Mode then, completely different kind of play experience and accomplishments. You will be recognized with a badge on that one. :)

As far as recognizing the pioneers of Ironman, the blog mentions freezing the old Ironman hiscores in case you were wondering. You won't be forgotten. Keep in mind the new UIM will have a separate hiscores from regular Ironman mode as well.

Good luck if you decide to take on the UIM challenge!

Another way to look at the Official Iron Man Mode situation, if you are on the border in terms of how you plan on voting, would be revenue. If the update passes there will be a massive amount of new accounts with membership. More membership leads to more revenue for the company, which opens the possibility of expanding the Dev team. Iron Man Mode is something that wouldn't require massive overall/updates to it once it is in place, which would open up that extra revenue for other content , such as the raid-style bosses one of JMods mentioned. Even if some people were planning on canceling their main account's subscription upon making an iron man account you would have an on-going subscription that could last much longer with how long it takes to get anywhere as an iron man.

Being a decent leveled iron man with my own Amulet of Fury, berserker ring, fire cape and all the other things that make these accounts fun I'm not interested in the new Iron Man mode at all.

I don't want to spoil the fun for everyone else but this account has gotten all of it's accomplishments because I had a very long summer break before I started university. Now that I'm in uni I'm forced to study at least 4 hours a day, making it very difficult to play Runescape properly. I went from level 71 to 80 fishing in a mere 10 days because of studying. Having to restart everything and going through the tiresome process of 83 hunter, 85 crafting, getting a fury, camping rex forever to get a zerk ring, doing barrows for a potential karils xbow, making money to get a crystal bow just doesn't seem appealing to me at all.

If the veteran Iron Men won't be recognized with a veteran badge or whatever I feel that even in 12 months from now my official Iron Man account won't be as good as this one currently is (not even 4 months old) simply because of the time I spent on this and the time I will be able to spend on my new account the rest of the year.

I hope that Jagex looks at the 'pioneers' of the Iron man challenge, the people that promoted it and made it mainstream and give us the possibility to get recognized in game. If not I don't think I'll be renewing my membership, nor will I be competing on the new iron man highscores. It was a fun run.

You are a petty person. The whole concept of Iron Man is to challenge oneself and have a sense of your own accomplishment in achieving stuff. If you're doing it to show off, you're just a sad attention seeker. Grow up! People have done so many unique/special things in RuneScape and have not received badges. People that have killed high level boss monsters on weak, underpowered accounts; people that have gained 200m xp in slow/expensive skills; etc.
Iron Man mode makes me so mad!

I'm not sure if this will receive a positive reception but I thought I'd at least suggest it. I think Hardcore iron men (and hardcore only) shouldn't be able to access PDC. Rooftops eliminate the danger, need for food, questing required for optimal courses and energy potions. Whereas Mlm, in tandem Orion's quickhop feature, has the wheels you can repair give great smithing experience without the need to gather any resources. Both of those I believe diminish the challenges that hardcore iron men were intended for. Does anyone else think this should be polled?

If spirit shields don't pass I'm quiting. 75% is way to high as a majority of the rs community has half a brain. Also, I've seen updates fail with like 74.2% is that .8 % really enough to say F you to 3/4 the community. Joke.

Just a couple of Questions regarding the Hardcore Iron-Man.

1. If I happen to die what happens to the account? ... Do I get the choice to move to regular Iron-Man or move back to tutorial Island?

2. I feel that because of the fact many players will be paying for there accounts for subscriptions which could be 3 months or more, it would be a bit unfair to keep charging players for accounts which are not on the game mode they wish.

3. Players will have their own unique character names they wish to keep, I suggest that if they want to move over to Regular iron man, then the Hardcore iron man high scores will be kept at the time they died, or they should have the option to not have the high scores published if they wish to start fresh with the same character name.

4. I have noticed on the poll that players who do not want iron man at all are clearly voting No on every poll that is Iron Man specific, If and when iron man is released it should be voted on by iron men only.

The biggest problem with this is the poll about buying items from shops, which will leave a loophole to cheat.

I feel the same way about iron man mode. 75% requirement is ridiculous

Corp without shields? Makes no sense. You should just make a new boss with new drops then. Corp without shields = dead content.
I think iron man mode is just idiot. I wont be using it for sure. However i know many people like the idea so i voted Yes for it to pass. I know i prob won*** have any spirit shield , but who knows.
People have to stop being selfish. Let other people have fun.

There you go, just watched spirit shields reach 75% so you guys can relax about it now. Grats on getting your shields :) (is actually 74.5% but the system rounds up)

Even if it ends up at like 74.49% I think the dev team sees and understands the overwhelming support on this thread to have these shields in with Corp. This thread exists for a reason, they are watching and listening to the community.

I have yet to see someone have a valid reason as to why the shields shouldn't go in with Corp and offer us their alternative. If someone did and I missed it I apologize, but you're still the minority here. Same with the Iron Man modes (assuming it also dips just below the 74.5% margin).
