]think of it like this. they are not in quest related areas. like the other two. well except canifis. i think a level requirement is more fair. plus i don't think mod ash or reach is willing to make quests a mandatory requirement to use the courses.

Making XP progressively easier to gain is a problem RS had in the past and should be avoided at all costs in 2007 or it devalues the time and work people have put into their skills using current methods.

I think i agree with the new courses there should definally have some kind of quest requirement if the xp rates are higher. 2007 is supposed to be hard and difficult things arent supposed to be just handed to you. I would say make availability to the new courses for people that have a certain quest point amount or make a certain quest that already is ingame to add as a requirement to use all the courses because i find it oddly weird that theres a few or a couple courses better then dorshegun. I agree if xp rates are increased there needs to be a requirement to access them to make the game a appropriate and fair for everyone.

Just thinking about the extra requirements, I'm not sure how possible it would be without speaking to Ash (he's off today) but can you think of any existing pieces of content which we could tie unlocking the courses in to? For example, you need to do Tribal Totem quest to unlock the Ardougne Course, or One Small Favour to unlock Seers.

Great idea. Add quest requirements to all new courses and then increase the max XP per hour a bit. I feel that it's to low for new courses. Especially the high level ones.
I think that adding quest requirements will be a good reason to increase the XP rates a bit.

Actually people are suggesting adding a quest requirement or a certain Quest point amount requirement to use the courses for the simple fact that the newer courses are overpowered a bit more with exp from the previous best courses. Jagex apparently improved the rates i believe of xp and im not saying to lower them or anything but make a quest requirement to access them.. not just that but theres nothing wrong about ever making a quest or quest point requirement to the game as it would encourage more people to quest and advance their account just that much more and in the end of the questing it'll be worth it. So please add a quest or quest point requirement if reading this old school team.

The above two comments proves my point. Bunch of hateful nasty asshats.

Anyways, obviously I can't even try to explain my points of view without being mocked and called "dumb".
What an awesome community.

Currently Jagex is bending over backwards to accommodate players like us with this update. Mod Mat K (correct me if I'm putting words in your mouth) wants everyone to have access to the new graceful armor. It does seem a tad bit silly to me that this will be some of the highest level content the game has to offer yet there is such an effort to make it available to everyone.

I think putting some restrictions on content gives players something to work towards. It's not necessarily the content itself that makes a great update but the time and effort put into achieving that goal and the exclusivity of it. I feel that "earning" rewards is something that is sorely lacking in new updates. Does that mean deliberately restricting level 3's from all courses? No, but the requirements should, in my opinion, coincide with the caliber of the content.

Also, please consider this. This update in its current capacity benefits level 3's and skillers more than any other class in this game. Those who have completed the quest and have decided to do combat are only seeing a very slight experience boost. Whereas those who have not earned those rewards or decided not to partake in those activities by choice are seeing a 30% increase experience boost with this update. If anything this update primarily benefits skillers.

A few very good points by "im on a roof" that i would like to point out

Another level 3 skiller perspective:

When I first made my account to be a level 3 skiller, I fully accepted the choice I made and understood that there would be limitations. However, most of us still play as level 3 skillers, because it’s more challenging and fun to have these limitations.

When it comes to skilling, the limitations have been marginally fair thus far. By which I mean, realistically, the implementation of the quest requirements would continue to match the limitations. For example, at the current experience rate starting out, skillers at the wild course average 45k p/hr while other players training at Dorg course average 55k p/hr. Of course as we gain additional levels, the experience rate increases as well. So if we were to compare two players running the course at the same level, the average difference is around 10k p/hr.

From looking at the experience rate mentioned by players who train at Dorg, the maximum experience attainable is at about 63-65k p/hr. With the new quest update, someone training at Ardougne would be able to average at about the same rate (62k per hour). This means that with the quest requirement, the limitation experience rate would stay about the same. Even though someone running the course at level 95+ will have a better experience rate than at 95, I imagine the additional experience would be minimally impacted. For me, I would rather we have the quest requirements as limitations.

TLDR:
-Quest requirement would closely match the current limitation rate for skillers
-No quest requirements would allow skillers to train at the same rate as all players

Heres a lv 3 skiller proving to the community and the old school jmod team how lv 3 skillers would rather have limitations and quest or quest point requirements for such an update.

I tend to think that a skill update should be available to ALL players since many RS3 players want to try and remain a pure\skiller. I personally have always hated quests so i propose a total lvl req for a few of the coarses instead of quests.

lmao whatever you do, don't put stupid quest requirements on them. Especially quests that require/give combat xp.
so what if level 3s can now train agility faster? as long not training a skill doesn't provide a benefit, it shouldn't be a problem.

Agreed. I understand the lvl 3's with 99 agility alrdy will be mad but think of the ppl in Rs3 who worked for yrs to get 100m+ rc xp b4 runespan came out. Noone has spent that much time even playing 07 yet so the damage is negligible.
