So at what point can we draw the line and say this isn't "Oldschool Runescape" anymore?

yeah it's called oldschool runescape, not 2007 runescape. runescape is a game that updates constantly and it has always been that way. oldschool does not mean 'no changes'.

UNIQUE BOSS IDEA

I use to play runescape private servers for quite a while after I quit RS when GE was released. Something that was interestingly popular on these private servers was the way they did bossing which I think would be really cool to introduce something similar to RS.

Bosses were set up as solo fights, however these bosses could be killed by numerous players. Essentially, roughly 3-7 players would camp the bosses lair and all begin to attack on re-spawn. All players hits would be individually calculated, and whoever had dealt the most damage to the monster would receive the drop. Ideally, players would want to choose a setup which would allow the to hit the highest possible hits in the least amount of time. The player awarded the kill would then pick up their loots and wait until the next fight with he others.

Another aspect of this bossing game play was the use of keys. These, believe it or not, were the most anticipated drops as they would allow players to unlock the lairs of even more powerful bosses and creatures that drop far better items. Each proceeding boss would require the key dropped be the boss before it. For example: boss #3 would require the key dropped by boss #2. This means players would logically need both key #1 and #2 in order to enter depending on how the game is set up as it would be impossible to obtain key #2 without key #1. These keys are untradeable.

This would be really cool if it were set up as a safe minigame where players could play against each other by fighting for the kill and the drops. Drops would be useful outside of the minigame

Have you considered re-releasing some runecrafting altars there? One of the most atmospheric and intriguing part of exploring runescape initially is following talismans to the altars, and wondering what the mysterious ruins are, before a talisman is found. If there was some way to rerelease them, but have some reason to use them, but not make them easier exp or anything... that'd be ideal.

Also, ofcourse, blood and soul altars pls pls

This is a excellent opportunity to add further use to many of the skills by introducing resources that can only be obtained within this new land. Perhaps new production methods as well-such as specialized forging equipment in the new lands to make mokume gane which would make new forms of jewelry. Ideas such as the Colleseum sound like it would be very fun as well, but wouldn't something like that harm the activity of clan wars and dual arena?

I believe many are asking for a snow area because we simply don't have many areas like that and the snow areas we do have do not contain much of any use.

Unfortunately, I'm terrible at names-but it should fit in with other area names so to avoid seeming out of place with the game.
OSRS Mage Tank.

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

Agreed tbh this seems like the perfect way to revive some useless skills like firemaking, smithing, etc. Not really sure how smithing can be done in a way that will pass the poll though.

I really do also like the idea of a skiller boss where you have to light fires to hurt it and so on. Would be something unique to skillers and there's alot that can be done with it IMO.

I personally feel like this shouldn't be a port. The idea of a bunch of smugglers and pirates and thieves just seems to drive me away from an area. I'm sure it does the same for many other players. I think this is one of the main reasons Mos Le'Harmless isn't considered a hang out spot in Runescape, even though it's lush and green. I'd gladly hang out in a place like Lletya over there any day.

Perhaps there could be a whole continent, with a port at the side, to which you can start the activities listed. If this were to come about, then you could add a teleport to the pirate town there, and you could put even more activities on the land, such as new player developed contents. (Caves full of bosses/monsters, new trade board thing, or even other things like quest or treasure trail areas)

This way, there would be more exploration, as was offered, without it seeming like you're in a massive dump filled with thieves.
