The most blatant problem here is a complete disregard for staying true to their roots on what made their game successful by ignoring the fact game changes are meant to be polled on and decided by the players. This was the business model. When a business model changes for the worse, the company declines. Good luck to the renegade jmods who were unbearable to even watch explain the logic behind the total obliteration of the blowpipe due to fallacies and unprofessional emotions displayed on the live stream. Rookies at best.
Also by following the logic of the
blowpipe
being a be all weapon, the
whip
is as well. Where is the whip nerf? A non-degradable, tier 70 weapon that requires but a measly slayer level of 80+boost. Meanwhile the bp requires:
scales, ammunition, and is locked behind a PvM wall.
How about realizing as well that the blowpipe's versatility is tied in with defense lowering special attacks? Maybe tackle those instead?
Seeing as PvM meta has completely changed due to the dragon warhammer and spec restore pools.
Finally, if the claim is to have a stop gap weapon between the blowpipe and tbow, then where is that weapon? Then again, this new weapon would not help with the problem you're apparently trying to curtail in the first place: power creep. So which is it that you're trying to resolve? A lack of foresight on the blowpipe's usefulness or an excuse for unimaginative weapon releases and balances?
All in all, this nerf is baffling to say the least both in its proposed changes and the way they will be implemented. If this is the future of the game we're to expect, there is little excitement about continuing to play.
