64 pages and counting of the OSRS community telling Jagex that they do not want this change and that they will quit the game, and Jagex doesn't give a crap. They do not care that they will ruin the game for a second time. (First was EOC). How stupid are these mods? I just wasted the past six months and hundreds of hours on this game. My bank value is like 300 mil. Even if I sold all my stuff I wouldn't be able to afford weapons like tbow and scythe. And most people probably play less than me. They are catering to the top 5% and screwing over the other 95%. I hope Jagex crumbles if they push this through.

While I'm still extremely upset about this not being polled I would like to point out that many players at Last Man Standing already prefer mage over range. Nerfing d'hide might tip these scales even more in favor of mage because black d'hide is default gear. The point of nerfing the d'hide is that it will push players towards other items, but that is simply not an option in LMS until you upgrade with a bloody key. However, upgrading isn't an option if you always die to the mage because the triangle is skewed in the beginning.

A few questions:

1. What do you gain by moving up the requirements of insanely expensive weapons? The level requirements are a moot point for the Kodai Wand Ghrazi Rapier, etc. How many players actually use these items at the minimal required level to wield, and within not that many hours of training post having these, they would be at the new requirements anyways. This only seems to affect a minor number of pro players with multiple accounts who have created a low level pure.

2. Presumably you plan to put in new weapons at these levels that are vacated by the current best in slot weapons. Do you plan on these being reasonably affordable (like the blowpipe) for the average player or is it expected to require hundreds of hours of money making endeavors to gain these new weapons. What impact are you looking to have on mid level players?

3. Will the challenge of the fight cave and kiln be changed? It's unreasonable to nerf the weapons that players today have used and then make the harder go forward. Or make players re-earn these capes post the weapons change.

4. Make the changes meaningful. Players only use a scimitar for a short period of time, what do you have to gain by making the long sword or battleaxe slightly better. It's a distraction from this bigger conversation

5. You should poll the changes post the beta being open for a while to get a sense of it the players like it or not. Even if you go through with it regardless of player feedback, you should at least take and share the results of the poll.

I made a post on Friday to state my specific feedback/grievances with this "rebalancing" but I wanted to post again to say that I've reflected over the weekend and have just canceled my membership. I would encourage others to also consider "voting with your feet". If Jagex does the right thing and polls these changes, then you can always re-new membership.

There's really two things that led me here, and they're matters of respect for your community/customers - not specific content updates:

1) These changes being un-polled is just brutally disrespectful. Two big examples:
1a) this one doesn't even impact me, but soooo many players who have spent time and effort perfecting a unique account build (namely 75 att) are getting trashed via the update and don't even get a chance to voice their concern. Raising scythe to 85att won't positively impact any player - a normal account doesn't have the amount of money to buy a scythe at 85 attack anyways. A normal player wouldn't have this kind of money until 90+ (or ever), unless they're being fed it by a cash cow maxed main.
2b) this one does impaxt me, but a blowpipe is a huge midgame goal for many players, especially ironman, because it's very hard to get legitimately. If gold farmers/bots were adequately addressed then I can guarantee the price of blowpipe would be 20m+ and scales would be much more expensive. The blowpipe is cheap and thus considered "OP" due to botting problem.

2) this drives a massive wedge between casual players enjoying the game and maxed hardcore gamers/post endgame who have no job and play all day. Post endgame players arent impacted by this rebalancing. "Oh, looks like I'll just use my tbow and arma more often instead of blowpipe and dhide". Post endgamers are < 5% of the playerbase (who frankly aren't even paying customers because their membership comes via bonds). C'mon Jagex - govern for the standard/casual/normal players.

Please do the genuine thing Jagex - poll.

To finish up from previous post, I am not the "gamer type" but have always loved this game and come back to it over the years. Please do not ruin the game we love, again.

Design content for the majority of player base. Fix problems when they occur, as needed (not years later). Poll changes as promised. This game can be great by adding new content and gameplay options - you don't need to take away or nerf established content.

If you're itching to "fix" something, please fix the botting gold farms.

Aaaaand here goes Jagex, at it again. "We HAVE to make these changes to items that have been in the game for 5-20 years, you stupid plebs don't understand. That's why we're not polling it. Trust the experts. Stop denying science." Welp, I'm out. Enjoy your circle jerk over how enlightened you are. Maybe even on twitter with the 5% of the player base that follows you on there and will still be playing after you go down this road.

You guys are just TOO smart for the player base, really. These people THINK they like these items. They THINK they like the game the way it is. They THINK such drastic changes to long-existing items aren't needed. They just don't get it! This is just like EOC, where all of the dumb plebs said "no, jagex, please don't change the game we've come to know and love" and you guys brought the hammer down and said, "NO, THIS IS OUR GAME. YOU'LL PLAY EOC AND YOU'LL LOVE IT" and then tens of thousands of players quit. Absolutely based. You tell those paying customers who's really in charge! It's YOUR product. Fuck the players, that's what I say.

Nah but on a serious note this is absolutely embarrassing, and the fact that you aren't polling it shows that. I quit for a couple months, came back to see this, and... yeah, I'm out. You guys are power tripping hard - again. You spend months developing, testing, polling items, only to release them and YEARS LATER decide to change them once a meta has already been built around them. Fuck off.

Please for the love of god and all that is good do not make any changes! these items are perfect and no change is needed. if this goes into effect well probably see at least 50% if not more of the players who enjoy osrs will stop playing. we don't want that. please just don't change anything. Thank you.

You "wont poll changes because not passing them would be detrimental "??? Excuse me? Most of your player base would disagree and while there might be one or two ideas in here that have merit, dont suddenly think that just because you have an influx of mobile players that people wille stay if you turn the game to shit again.
I wont stay if yall the ruin the game again. Most people wont have a problem dropping it and new generations arent interested in this "really old game from the early 2000s" as my cousins and nephews call it.
Please listen to the community and poll all changes before you cause yourselves, your company, and this community irreparable damage.
