I hope the resounding feedback you see here and on Reddit, and I would imagine Discord is enough to open your eyes to how wildly off you are with these proposed changes and the communities views. This is starting to feel like diablo 3 devs all over again, which is horrifying because the reason I love osrs is because it is supposed to be a game that actually responds to and represents the community.
I understand the need for true unpolled integrity changes... examples of these would be squashing unintended bugs, or mechanics within a reasonable timeframe of their discovery that allow single groups of abusive players to gain an unfair advantage other others. Integrity changes should ONLY be implemented on a basis of player equity, where the change is needed because a select few are being given benefits that other players are not. These scenarios indeed do threaten the game integrity, and threaten the fun and longevity of it's players.
These proposed changes, are at their core NOT integrity changes. These are drastic, base gameplay changes with massive in game consequences that will have ripple(more like tidal wave) affects to all aspects of the game. All players have equal access to this content, and the benefits of these "OP" weapons. Therefore, you MUST poll any of these changes, as the polling system is what has allowed old school to grow from nothing to one of the greatest remasters on the internet. It is the ONE thing separating your game from the 100's of other MMORPG's online who are failing to retain players. There is a reason 30 year olds who played this game when they were 10 still have played this game for 100s of hours today, and this is the main reason.
I won't get into how much I strongly disagree with these changes, because this is about the core concept of the proposal. These "Integrity" changes need to be polled because they are not true Integrity based changes. Passing this without a vote would demolish the true Integrity & spirit of OSRS.
