I like the changes although it's hard to see how it will turn out/work or if it will be good.

Dont poll it, players will vote in their self interest if they have/like certain items (I'm tempted to do the same)

Some of the most expensive/effective items, maybe they need an even higher stay requirement than proposed

the warhammer switch to str from att is the most concerning to me. will drastically change the f2p and obby mauler meta. i think making them stronger than warhammer and need att and str to be 40 would be a more appropriate change, they would become an alternate switch from the rune 2h, seems like it would fit the game more. i dont hate the idea of an f2p mauler tho eoc killed us once...

Most of the unpolled changes that are being proposed here are simply awful. None of these changes will ultimately serve to preserve the health of the game in the long term. Upsetting over half of your player base with unnecessary nerfs to popular items (such as the blowpipe) that were perfectly fine beforehand is a bad idea.

Your rationale for many of the proposed changes is honestly absurd. Nerfing the Netiznot Faceguard because it is "a little too powerful considering the level at which it is rewarded" makes no sense at all. If that were the reason for which it were being nerfed, you would simply raise the levels associated with obtaining it and using it. It is already a very rare drop from an otherwise useless slayer task (1/1k from basilisk knights), which will completely eliminate the point of killing them altogether when the basilisk jaw inevitably plummets in price.

The worst proposed updates within this blog, however, are the blowpipe changes. Ranged (with the exception of the twisted bow) is already subpar to melee in most slayer and boss encounters. According to the blog, it needs to be nerfed because the damage output is far superior to the previous tier of weaponry (Karil's Crossbow and the Crystal Bow). Using this as reasoning for nerfing the blowpipe is absolutely laughable; both of those items are hugely flawed and useless in most content.

Chances are these updates will, unfortunately, push forward and make it into the game. Sometimes the best choice is to leave things how they are, but people tend to have a tendency to try to fix that which is not broken. If the main concern here is avoiding powercreep that may be introduced by new content, the solution is not to nerf old items in order to pave way for the new ones, but to carefully construct plans to make the new items worthwhile but not overpowered. Hopefully these changes (aside from boosts to underpowered items) will be revamped or removed before implementation to the game.

This will make pures like me quit. It will make no one happy and will only destroy the small amount of wealth players have invested into these items. Just by making this statement, you have made people lose millions from the grand exchange.

The person responsible for this proposal should be fired.

Nerfs are never beneficial to any game and always push people to quit. If the blowpipe is nerfed I will quit playing on my main as well.

The fact that you nerfed the serpentine helm just to add the "quest" required neitiznot faceguard and now are deciding to nerf it as well. It makes any further progression from your game seem pointless and a waste of time because everything is up in the air.

The nerf to void should have been my last straw.
Anything that was in this game before 2007 should 100% never be changed, or this will become EOC.

This game is simply that a game, spot destroying the time people have invested because of your false hypothesis that this will make the game last longer. It will in fact make this game die off because of your inability to understand the vast majority of the player base.

Any and all changed to the game were suppose to be voted on.

Doing these changes without polls, for the sake of the game's health, hurts the game's health

"If it was to be polled and fail then it would be explicitly detrimental to the game's health"

This game has been going strong for nearly 8 years. Many of the core items have been in the game for this long, and the game has only been getting bigger. The quirks about the game are what we love.

One of the biggest elements core to the life of the game is the polling system that gives players their voice in changes to the game. It can even be seen as a system of checks and balances. To make such a large change without polling hurts players' faith in the company and their connection with the playerbase. If Jagex is going to act like they know better, and force such a large and impactful update on us, then why even have polling in the game anymore?

The developers may be the ones making the content, but does that make their opinion of the direction of the game more valid than anyone else's? They are just people like the rest of us. What about someone who plays the game 12 hours a day? Do they have a more valid opinion of where the game should go? When Jagex created the polling system, they gave the community the power to say where the game should go. If they didn't want us to have say in something as big as this, they shouldn't have created the polling system in the first place.

I thought what Jagex praised themselves about was the fact that no new changes would be implemented without being polled? I think this is a very bad look to brute force changes without consulting the community through polling. Players are going to lose trust in the devs and not believe they have the players' best interest in mind if Jagex is going to impose pretty big changes into OSRS without having their opinion considered. Don't change the way updates come to the game now, these updates NEED to be polled.

I've been playing Runescape since 2003. I have endured EOC and choose to not play it at all. I have read through every single post on this forum and 98% of the posts are negative responses. If these updates go through without a poll I will officially quit Runescape altogether.
As an ironman at nearly 2100 total level I will feel like the game mode would heavily be damaged and this game mode is the only reason I continue to play.
At the very most, make Zulrah a level 80+ slayer boss, make it harder to obtain (even though some people go dry 2k kills). Imagine nerfing the dwh when you spent 25k kills getting it, when it is now essentially uselss. Imagine killing 25k shamans with a rune crossbow, yeah some of you have done it but unless they are 13 years old or a full time streamer and have time to play 16 hours a day, none of this makes sense.
I hope to continue to be playing this game throughout the remainder of this year but I have no problem cancelling my membership as I'm sure plenty of others will do the same. Big loss of profit, did you see what happened when EOC came out? remember the days of having close to 1million people logged in? Times have changed, doesn't mean OSRS has to, leave the relic alone.
