Most of the unpolled changes that are being proposed here are simply awful. None of these changes will ultimately serve to preserve the health of the game in the long term. Upsetting over half of your player base with unnecessary nerfs to popular items (such as the blowpipe) that were perfectly fine beforehand is a bad idea.
Your rationale for many of the proposed changes is honestly absurd. Nerfing the Netiznot Faceguard because it is "a little too powerful considering the level at which it is rewarded" makes no sense at all. If that were the reason for which it were being nerfed, you would simply raise the levels associated with obtaining it and using it. It is already a very rare drop from an otherwise useless slayer task (1/1k from basilisk knights), which will completely eliminate the point of killing them altogether when the basilisk jaw inevitably plummets in price.
The worst proposed updates within this blog, however, are the blowpipe changes. Ranged (with the exception of the twisted bow) is already subpar to melee in most slayer and boss encounters. According to the blog, it needs to be nerfed because the damage output is far superior to the previous tier of weaponry (Karil's Crossbow and the Crystal Bow). Using this as reasoning for nerfing the blowpipe is absolutely laughable; both of those items are hugely flawed and useless in most content.
Chances are these updates will, unfortunately, push forward and make it into the game. Sometimes the best choice is to leave things how they are, but people tend to have a tendency to try to fix that which is not broken. If the main concern here is avoiding powercreep that may be introduced by new content, the solution is not to nerf old items in order to pave way for the new ones, but to carefully construct plans to make the new items worthwhile but not overpowered. Hopefully these changes (aside from boosts to underpowered items) will be revamped or removed before implementation to the game.
