Some mysterious half of 10k responses recorded nowhere and removed from game. Clearly, that's the best metric to change core game mechanics based on LMAO

Probably the worst decision you could make. We don't even get to vote, it's as if we're all just waiting for the worse to happen, you're making all of these changes without even questioning anything. I quit RS3 because it became trash, now it looks like OSRS is going the same way.

"this change must happen and if it was to be polled and fail then it would be explicitly detrimental to the game's health". So basically whatever we say it doesn't matter, you're going to implement these changes anyways. I'm quitting.

I wanted to do a more finished "proposal" to fix unused melee (maybe range too) weapons, but these proposed changes worry me, so here is something I have been thinking about recently.

Proposal: Just make a build/item/prayer option for slow items (i.e. slower base attack speed = higher bonus, like in other games that can do flat %attack speed increase, catching up with scimitars and the like)

Key points:
- adds NEW meta options WITHOUT eliminating old meta options, does not change maximum experience rates, etc.
- doesn't require nerfs/rebalancing/making currently good items less good (perhaps a few very strong, slow items would need a little nerfing, but a small cost for opening up all slow weapons for training/bossing)

An example: % chance to doublehit = (base attack speed - 3) x 3

So scimitars (4-tick) only get 3% chance to double hit, while warhammers (6-tick) get 9% (the numbers should be balanced as necessary, and a double attack is just the idea I like best, it could also be slower attack = higher damage/accuracy/defense bonus, etc.)

Considerations and other Thoughts: I think this would open up melee gear variety far more significantly than specific changes to specific items/item types. Probably pvm only (or slayer only?) otherwise adds to much randomness to pvp. I can't think of any downsides really besides perhaps needing to nerf a few of the strongest, slow weapons. Also, some reblancing between different slow items might be necessary (e.g. warhammers and battleaxes), but no one uses them anyway so no one cares about their stats changing some :D
If there are serious drawbacks to something like this, let me know, I just haven't thought of any and I would hate to see jagex make their proposed changes when something like this could be introduced instead. Thanks!

Hi Jagex,

Here's my (quick) feedback on the NERFs rebalancing only

Neitiznot Faceguard: Leave stats alone, perfectly fine the way it is. Instead, maybe increase slayer level to kill Basilisk Knights to the 82-84 range, and increase jaw drop rate (while on slayer task only) to 1 in 1,500.

T-Bow: Make the change you mentioned (remove the +4 prayer), but add the option to imbue the t-bow back to the present +4 prayer bonus with 1,000,000 nightmare points or whatever makes sense. Increase range level requirement from 75 to 82.

Black D'Hide armour - This nerf is a must as it is way too strong for cost/stat requirements.

Dinh's Bulwark - The magic defence nerf is fine in my opinion and makes sense from the combat triangle POV, but it doesn't make sense to drop melee defence bonuses. It's a 2 handed "weapon" which you can't attack with, only tank...?

Toxic Blowpipe - DEFINITELY needs a nerf but the proposed changes are wayyyyy too harsh. Presently in OSRS, there are a lot of ranged weapons known for specializing in high damage per "shot" (ex. TBow, Balista, DHC, Dark Bow spec, crossbows in general, etc.). Therefore, why not keep the blowpipe known for strong accuracy while sacrificing the damage.

These are my suggested changes:
- Accuracy nerf from +60 to +50 (instead of down to +30)
- Damage nerf from +40 to +30 (instead of down to +25)
- Keep all your PROPOSED changes to darts (this means the accuracy and strength nerfs to all darts)
- Change it's range level requirement from 75 to 80 range

These 4 changes to the Toxic Blowpipe are all nerfs, but will keep it with solid accuracy but lesser damage overall.


Personally, I have been playing OSRS since it was first released, and only JUST reached 95 slayer. I'm also not rich, therefore I can only afford using the blowpipe against the alchemical hydra which is already lengthy costly kills on its own. Tbow or DHC isn't attainable for me atm. Keep BP strong, but not OP.

I am very concerned about the proposed changes to the blowpipes stats. the only reason the twisted bow isn't considered massively over-powered is because the blowpipe exists in its current form. without the blowpipe being competitive for things like COX/TOB (vs scythe) and inferno, consider how well ironmen (and not-rich mains) who can't buy twisted bows/scythes can do the content. CMs will not be viable for irons anymore until they have a bow.
while the stats in isolation might sound reasonable, please consider the actual instances and pieces of content that regular mains who arent rich, and ironmen, use blowpipes, and what their viable alternatives are. as an ironman this is the kind of thing that would make me consider quitting the game as i would feel left out of end-game pvm content

It's awesome to play a game for over a year making an account specifically created around being 75 attack and 45 defense for current weapons and items just to have it ruined. Why wasn't the changes polled. Good fight great game from my childhood ruined yet again after being told that all changes would be polled. Private servers are ran better than this. get your stuff together.....
