Like it or not, it will never be socially acceptable to call me or anyone else a racist without proof. you have no idea how offensive that is. i am actually colour blind, and there are a lot of colour blind people who cherish colonial history, heritage and monuments for most of their lives. There are also people who think you should show respect by standing for an anthem no matter what, and respect captain cook and christopher columbus statues and any other heritage site.

The point about blatent politics and political organisations is that there will be many different opinions - even political opinions that disagree with systemic racism even occuring in some countries. Be satisfied respecting all victim lives during and outside election cycles. Marxist movements are not moral compasses, couldn't get lil wayne to agree to it in 2016 (another election cycle). Free to disagree, jagex can make up their own mind

I'm tired of the BLM movement creating racism where there was none, censorship is inbound for this game and it's ugly.

The dreaded death update that brings us one step closer to being rs3.

Jagex please stop ruining this game.

I've felt for some years now that some aspects of the OSRS community are quite toxic, but never would I have considered censorship as a means to combat it. I believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant - giving racists the liberty to speak publicly means that we who are not are able to debate, refute their points and mock them. Silencing them simply drives them underground, where they can further radicalize in their echo chambers and hide from debate.

I'm not particularly happy that your company is supporting the Black Lives Matter organization but I can't say I'm surprised either. If you take five minutes to read the organizations "What We Believe" page on their website, you will learn that they are ideologically Marxist, racially collectivist and in favour of defunding the police and destroying the nuclear family model. This is dangerous and I cannot support any company that associate with such proposals.

I believes that all lives matter and that life itself is a gift that should be cherished, and find it deeply offensive when I'm unfoundedly called a racist as I am not one. I simply do not agree with BLM's philosophy.

Please make the filter optional. Censorship is never a good thing. Assholes will always find new ways or words to provoke, so taking a part of language away is only going to keep limiting what we can say until we can't say anything.

It's bad enough already that you can't write sentences with comma or punctuation without the chat automatically thinking you are writing a gold selling site, and then censoring most of your message. It's clearly not working, going to any high populated f2p servers proves this. And making the hard filter will work just as badly.

But by all means, make it, but again, please make it optional for people who can't handle harsh language. Maybe even make it the default, and make it so that you have to take it off by yourself if you don't like seeing all those bloody stars ^^ (stars referring to the * symbles)

I would also like to express my sincere disappointment for jagex going political, please show more respect for your community jagex. not everyone out there supports these political movements and politicization of the game. I strongly disagree with these "new filter" plans, which does become a slippery slope to political censorship. we may not like what other people have to say, but the excuse to call it hate speech, etc. is just an excuse to express a political agenda. we all have a right to be offended, including people with alternative viewpoints to what YOU jagex may deem as morally acceptable. that's why the best thing is to stay OUT of it. you give an international service, not an American/ leftist political agenda.
p.s. (i am a black man, and i am deeply offended by BLM---> because i know the truth)

In my opinion this death update marks a new era in OSRS. An era that I'm happy enough to play but I wouldn't consider old school anymore, which is hugely disheartening.
I would like to urge the OSRS team and community to think about old updates and what made them feel old school. Get ourselves into an old school mindset so the game doesn't fall off the rails completely like we've seen happen with the other runescape. RIP Forums :(
Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.

JAGEX never learns, was a stubborn knuckle head before and still as stubborn as ever.

Runescape 3, War of Legends hopes this 2 game rings a bell on what they have in common, great on release, utter failure towards the end.
