Yeah death mechanics doesnt need to be changed, ive been playing this game since 2004 and from what ive gather from my experience is everyone will just start crashing everyone again for that loot.. JAGEX look at the bigger picture please! :P

arent they going to move the gear outside of the gwds dungeon where u dont need the kc? if u dont have spare cash to do obtain ur items then git gud and dont do gwds go do barrows with ur iban blast

Not opposed to change, but being charged for dying really sucks, not every player is a PvPer, Staker, PvMer, etc etc with tons of time and cash to throw around. Some of us just like to play this game when we have time to do so - dying shouldn't feel like a money-drain/money-grab.

I get that there should be a middle ground with the subject if it is implemented, although at the start of this thread, one user did say "Don't fix what ain't broken" - seriously - I've been playing RS since 2004, with OSRS since launch and I have NEVER seen anyone complaining about the death mechanics that are current in OSRS. Just leave it alone please. Gravestones are a great idea, but punishing players upon death, when the player has ALREADY DIED seems to be general punishment enough (gearing back up somewhat/getting back to where you died, potentially losing said items, etc) without the need to pay Death or whatever.

If you guys really want to work on a subtle mechanic that isn't meant to screw some of it's player-base over, bring back the Rest option for your run energy.

-Also, forgot to say, aren't these big game changing type things suppose to be polled?! Don't we as a community actually have a say in some large change in the game like we used to?
I always knew the polling system was greatly biased, if not misleading for us anyway - but we should still have a large say in it regardless.

Not to mention, you remember what happened when you did major changes to things that didn't need to be changed? Players left, some outright quit. The playerbase dropped. Yes, some did come back, but many, many years later.

Please don't repeat things that we've learnt from in RS's history..

So did this really get passed in poll or is this a dev decision as i no from my GF or a new player that is still are new to the game and don't no the teleports yet 15mins isn't really long enough . And then for them to have to pay death on top of the death thats has just happen is a little but
hmmm. Even if you have to for for you items once that should be enough not have to pay death again .

but i do agree and love the tomb mechanics the 15mins and death part is hmmm (Do i really want this back in OSRS)

I feel like you forgot to implement the most important part of bringing back gravestones - being able to bless another player's gravestone at the cost of some prayer points. When you notice another player has died, it's always a nice courtesy to bless their gravestone so they have a little extra time to run back.

Uhhh look here buddy ol pay jagex moderators what makes YOU think I want to pay for my gear back I already pay for this game. I play on mobile primarily and I disconnect like no other and I like to play specific bosses and YOU are telling me if I happen to die and I don’t make it back to my stuff all the hours I took to get my gear and pay for it will be lost??? Are you out of your mind. Who in there right mind wants this unnecessary mechanic rich players who come across money and can lose gear and can afford it??? I play countless hours of this game and if I lose items over a disconnect and I can’t reach it in time I will quit you are bringing rs3 back into this and people quit I should not have to play countless more hours to get my hard worked items back because of a terrible decision. I don’t even know why this was a poll question in there first place. This is another ploy to get people to keep paying more money and encourage more player to quit or to scam because they lost there most expensive item because they were doing a slayer boss. Do u know how many times players die with bosses only the rich noobs will be able to afford this. You need to halt this decision.

When will Jagex learn? They played around with the game mechanics in RuneScape and we left in droves. They resurrected the OSRS and we returned, thankful for the simple mechanics we came to know and love. Now, they want to dumb it down, change the way fundamental things work and guess what?....we'll leave in droves again.

Stop tinkering with a proven formula. Concentrate on enhancements to maintain our interest; locations, quests etc.

This seems like a good update overall and I am so glad we're finally seeing changes to deaths as the system we've had for the last 6 years or whatever was way too OP/easy to abuse.

I do however have some feedback already:
1) Iron men shouldn't get such a massive discount given that we have the ability to sacrifice items for the coffer. It just seems like more catering and this is coming from a main iron man.
2) I think item recovery should be free regardless of value if the items are recovered within 5 minutes of dying. The existing fee can continue to apply if you're later than 5 minutes. This works because a lot of areas in game are easily reachable in this time and makes the system less punishing to most people.
3) Why are supplies left on the ground for such a stupidly high amount of time? This is the kind of abuse I was hoping you guys would get rid of as it seems like a silly decision to essentially allow a Pak Yak on the floor.

I look forward to the changes that get made further down the line. :)
