The fact is that without the risk of losing any items, wheter that is because of it being dropped for you for 60 minuts, or stored in some death office's bank, takes away all fun and elements of danger of the game, as well as an important part of player interaction.
A player can litterally do a boss fights without any risk, simply cause he can run back to his grave, pick up the items and go in again to damage/kill a boss/monster. This will make it super easy for new botters to emerge that play on this part.
Option 1 with a slightly more timer (5-15 minuts?), WITH item spawn for other players is the best in my opinion, and would keep the game more interesting for everyone.
