First time posting on these forums in 16 years playing the game, but hey- I guess late is better than never.
I agree that looking at the G-maul is a good idea. It is a very powerful weapon and is currently not worth very much because of the large number of people killing gargoyles. I would be in favor of the proposed changes with a few modifications. As this weapon is used a lot, and is frankly a pretty cool weapon when used correctly, I think 10m BH points and $1m dropped on death is too high. Maybe the equivalent of a T1 emblem and $100k dropped. Some ratio that can't be abused to farm gp. This will be change, but a smaller change which can be monitored and tweaked. I think small changes are better when dealing with frequently used content.
The other bit I would like to comment on is the proposed magic defense changes. I believe that things should remain as they are with regards to magic defense resting 70% with magic level. Flavor-wise it works, but also this encourages people to train up their magic stat as a defensive mechanism, which I rather like. We have 4 DPS skills, it stands to reason that having 2 defensive skills as opposed to just 1. (yes magic would still impact the damage taken, but we would, with these changes, be moving in the
direction
of consolidating defense solely with the defense skill) This change would negatively impact 1-45 defence pures which are a large part of the pking community and which appears to be well balanced now.
