I'm about 40-60% in favor of GWD as it currently stands. My vote is still on the fence however. Mind you I was about 95% against GWD earlier, before playing OSRS since release.

One thing: If the poll fails, what will happen? Did you say you'd look into why it failed and offer an alternative GWD? If this is the case, I think you should mention it. Or will GWD be forgotten for good if the poll fails? I think you should mention that too. In the poll itself.

I think it's important because it will affect how people vote. If they know this is the only vote, more people will be willing to compromise, voting yes (even if they think original GWD isn't the best option). If they know alternatives will be offered later, more people will vote no for the original one (those who think it's not the best option).

But thanks again. If people complain about addy bars, it's understandable - no easy money for them - but please don't take them too seriously. I'm sure you did the correct decision.

Not taking those people seriously? I think a popular opinion should certainly be taken seriously, but that doesn't mean reverting an update, for example letting the aviansies drop bolts/arrows instead of adamant bars to refill your bolts/arrows.

One thing: If the poll fails, what will happen? Did you say you'd look into why it failed and offer an alternative GWD? If this is the case, I think you should mention it. Or will GWD be forgotten for good if the poll fails? I think you should mention that too. In the poll itself.

This was something I wanted to address in my post, but ran out of characters to do so with. Should this fail and become repolled, I'm sure many players will cry out for repolls of other certain updates. Specifically pures RE: Ape Atoll. If OSRS starts re-polling things though, some players, myself included, might question the integrity and longstanding permanence of polled ideas. It's possible re-polls may become a touchy subject. I also wonder if they'll ever repoll the 75% pass rule.

Should GWD not pass, can we please still get polls for mage/range/melee balancing? I'd still love to see Mage/Range equivalents of Piety get a release at some point.

my suggestion is just take into account both what you feel is right for you and what is right for the community. Ultimately the decision is yours and that is the beauty of this that we all in our individual right are the status quo

It'll depend on the situation at the time. If we thought no-one wanted the GWD, we'd put it aside and go poll something else, such as PvP worlds. But if we thought most people did want the GWD, just not quite in the form that was offered, we'd look for some way to deliver what they do want.

I believe things were mentioned on stream such as that everything that gets added to OSRS is what the PLAYERS want. Why is it that adamant bars are being dropped unoted without being polled by the players first? Sure it was being farmed a lot but it was only being farm so much by BOTS. That's something you need to understand first. Don't go back on your own words Mat. You know what you said on stream. NOTHING should be implanted to OSRS unless the players want it. The change of making bars unoted should be treated equal to the dboot/ags/ammy/staff/crossbow suggestions otherwise you may as just not poll anything and add it. If you want to not listen to the players and ruin OSRS then go right ahead. The outcome will be the same as RS3.

I regularly vote in favor of what I think the community wants, however if I feel that GWD is shaping up to be too unbalanced (say if many of the rebalances being polled are nowhere near 75%) I'm still going to vote no for GWD. I understand the importance that GWD holds for the longevity of OSRS, but if there's a possibility of a re-poll should this one not succeed then I think a little bit of extra time in development may be good for both GWD and the community at large. But I'm currently leaning in favor of GWD.
