Here are some simple solutions to the problems those have mentioned in the previous pages throughout the thread.

Staff of light:


Allow the staff of light to be used in melee only duels however set the special attack to magic based so that it will not give players unfair advantages and or make dds/whip staking obsolete.

Addy bars:


In my opinion the addy bars did have something unique about them. That was that it rewarded players who were having to grind out the KC to get to arma. Making maybe 200k-400k payed for a loss of supplies and half an hour of time to get into the armadyl chamber. I was going to suggest reducing the frequency of the addy bar drops however I feel that this would possibly still become prone to botting. My suggestion is to perhaps drop a selection of noted herbs at a frequent enough basis that they could be slightly profitable but not so much that it would effect farmers etc. If not herbs then maybe other items such as alchables like rune daggers, rune meds, addy plates etc. Again, not too frequently as this could cause a an excessive amount of gold to enter the game.

The suggestions might not be rock solid but you get the point im getting across.

Alchables kind of like Rune daggers (+p) and Rune crossbow limbs? Are those possibly the kind of alchables your suggesting they add to the avianse drop tables?

as a replacement for the addy bars possibly

Do not give GWD extra rewards such as staffs and bows. Let there be room for rewards for new bosses. You have the entire map of Runescape, don't limit most of its content to one area. Seeing and experiencing a variety of things is much more enjoyable than turning GWD into a grind to get anything and everything.

Ok how about changing up the zammy spear because it is completely useless in 07. Why make it a cosmetic dragon spear? Please poll changing its special attack into a peircing blow or something?

And I was really hoping you would add some armours to all the bosses because that would, you know, balance it? Bandos and arma have str boosting gear and range boosting gear respectively. Why not give zammy boss attack boosting gear and the sara boss mage boosting gear so they each offer awesome armour drops that are all useful in relative ways?

No need to add armour with def gear because that is what barrows are for.

I really hope you take my suggestions into consideration.

First off, something has to be done about that zammy spear, you are so correct. Maybe making it take 15% special attack instead of the 25%, so it is better than the dragon spear? Or making it have a piercing blow like you said? Either way, it is unacceptable that a drop from a GWD boss is just a cosmetic form of another item, what an utter waste.

Talking about truly balancing the GWD, what you said is perfect. Mod Ash did a great job in balancing out the weapons (even though melee gets 4 weapons but range and mage each get 1, meh) Your armour idea is soooo awesome, and I hope they add that in. It will also add a whole new perspective to God Wars, and a great one at that.

Tell me...which boss, besides Kree'ara would be best killed with anything other than melee? How about outside of GWD, which combat type is the most efficient way to kill other bosses? Slayer tasks even?...Melee wins hands down currently, and while you may want MeleeScape, it's not what everyone wants.

I wasn't one of the ''1%'' who caused Jagex to ''force'' EoC on you, I wasn't around since 2010, didn't even know what EoC was till I joined back up and lost interest in what y'all were turning the OSRS into. Easy buttons and begging flooded the forums so I left, I already ''went back to EoC'' and to tell you the truth, it's more fun over there. I can use magic or range wherever I see fit, different monsters have weaknesses to different types of combat, not just melee, so yea it's definitely the better choice for me.

Here's the thing though, in 2007 melee-bias was strong, people seemed to like it that way, but now it's 2013...so if you're wanting ''new players'' to join to keep the game alive you might have to adapt a little and not cater to simply 1 group of players like they did back in the day, because each player wants something different from the game, and won't stay if they don't get it or something close.

Andrew isn't here anymore, so sorry to disappoint you, but while this game may look like RS in 2007, it doesn't have the same team as in 2007. While it does seem to be heading in the same direction as it did in 2007, it'll simply lead it closer to EoC, even if you won't acknowledge it or even see it, every step so far has done nothing but ensure that OSRS will wind up just like RS3, it just might have worse/better graphics and a different combat system, different Jmods running it and different players playing it.

Can you please poll the adamant bar feature? I don't think it's Jagex's call whether something in osrs is overpowered or not, no disrespect intended.

I think it was meant as an anti-bot measure to prevent the heavy camping of aviansies that was done in the past, it isn't something that needs polled unless you want to give all of the botters a chance to oppose updates that hurt them. Not to sound harsh, but we're not voting on Botwatch either.

what about asking questions differently giving them more options...
For example "Some people think the Armadyl Godsword will be too OP. What do you want us to do about that?
1. Don't change it
2. Reduce stats
3. Change so that the AGS will take 60% of your special attack bar"

Because the way it stands people only get to choose between two things.

And about the boots.. Why not put some slayer requirements to use the boots like the wine whip for example? Or make it untradeable or something. I'd really like to see more suggestions to every question rather than "yes, no"....

If we don't have simple ''yes/no'' answers we'll have to reduce the amount of required % to pass to a simple majority and the community wanted a supermajority, which as it stands is 75%. Multiple choice questions would void that. Unless what you're really asking for is to reduce the required percentage for a vote to pass, in which the community would need 75% support in order to change, then I'm sure simple ''yes/no'' questions are the best choice of action.

Now, asking additional questions like ''Do you want Dragon Boots to require XX Slayer level in order to be equipped? yes/no'' wouldn't hurt at all, in my opinion, a few extra questions on one poll to find out what the community really wants shouldn't bother anybody.

I believe I have a solution to the addy bars.

I am not sure if someone has requested this yet, but...let me start with this first.

By not polling the addy bars unnoted/noted update you are pushing many votes towards the no choice already because many people want to farm avansies for the addy bars. Obviously, right? This is where all of the people who hate the noted addy bars but love GWD need to step forward and COMPROMISE.

So do one of the two following things, either A, poll the noted/unnoted without changing the drop rate.

Or B, stick us smithers an anvil in there...several anvils, I don't even want to have to move but maybe 20 squares.

If you won't Poll A, don't Poll B but instead just place it without question, don't be hypocrites Jagex. And also for those people who are only interested in a certain small poll of the larger poll to pass (if an anvil question was present) their vote for GWD to exist needs to be classified on a IF basis. Example: Vote for GWD to come back is a yes IF the vote on the anvil is above greater than or equal to 75%, Vote for GWD is a no IF the vote on the anvil is greater than or equal to 75%. Furthermore for massive content updates like the GWD, this rule I just stated should only be for one chosen question of their choice.

I'm trying to compromise here, so for everyone that hates noted bars but wants GWD, give a little and get me an anvil and I'll vote yes, otherwise it's a no from me as well as many other players. I can guarantee you that.

I am not an English major.
