My major concern with Godswords in general is that they are just that.
God
swords. Being as such, these are incredibly powerful weapons with no further requirement than 75 attack. I do not believe it is in OSRS's best interest to release such powerful weapons with no further requirements (if purchased, rather than earned.) Instead, I would like to see something along the lines of additional requirements or stats in order to wield the Godsword/equivalent GWD drop. Or alternatively, one must actually fight the boss to obtain one untradeable piece of the sword, and buy the other piece from a player or PvM it themselves. RWTers do unfortunately exist, and these Godswords greatly increase the value of cash vs the value of training and completing quests.
As a quick analogy, the Barrelchest anchor requires a series of quests to wield, however the Godsword merely requires 75 attack. I suppose a counter argument to this is that Barrows Equipment is of a high caliber and only requires level 70 stats, but for those you also need 70 def/attack if you want the full effect.
I'm still on the fence about voting yes/no to GWD. I'm leaning more and more toward yes everyday, but my main concerns are balance, and whether or not further polls will be issued in a timely manner without severe consequences for the economy and PvP/PvM communities in game.
I'd like to throw in my support for 65% spec across all Godswords being polled, rather than the proposed 60%.
I greatly appreciate all the thought and work that has gone in to this from the OSRS Jagex team, and am very very impressed by your customer service and community involvement. I wish RS3 players could enjoy the same level of c
