I would just like to address all the people complaining about the poll system. The reason it requires 75% is so that the vast majority of people approve of the changes. Just because you wanted something that failed doesn't mean the system is broken, its working as intended. And i for one think its a good thing.

The reason we ended up with a game that wasn't good anymore (rs3) is because the devs were releasing unpolled changes that fundamentally altered the game. Yes, this way we probably get less updates, and some good updates fail polls, but overall the game is better for it. I would rather miss out on one hundred good updates than be forced into one bad one.

This all being said, i think the devs made a mistake with the revenant drop table. The revenant caves should not even have been released until a fleshed out drop table was decided upon and polled. Releasing this many alchable drops is not only short sighted, but it also feels lazy. Alchable drops in large magnitudes can cause severe damage to the economy, mostly through introducing coins that didn't previously exist. Each coin becomes worth less, the more coins that exist. Jagex should be looking to REDUCE the amount of gp in the economy, not increase it.

Having 75% instead of 50% polls solves one issue: it prevents polarizing updates that almost have the community doesn't want. But there are plenty of other issues with democracies in general that are not addressed by requiring a supermajority and keeping everything else the same. Probably the most prominent issue is that making votes cost nothing and giving everyone the same amount of voting power leads to results that do not accurately reflect what the voter base values because people do not value things equally.

This issue is most problematic when it comes to niches (e.g. pkers). If a change that would greatly benefit the niche would hinder voters outside the niche, even if only a little bit, then what you end up with is a small amount of voters that greatly value the change being outvoted by the majority that care very little. This specific problem is also exacerbated by requiring supermarjorities.

These problems are somewhat serious and I think Jagex needs to gather their player base together so that we can have a discussion about this. Unfortunately, most people seem to hold one-person-one-vote democracy in such high esteem that any suggestions to deviate from it come off as blasphemous.

Note, though, that the solution is not to restrict voting on updates that primarily affect a niche to players in that niche; the primary issue is votes being weighted equally despite voters valuing the issue differently and there are going to be players outside the niche that value the update just as much as players inside the niche (and on top of this, I don't think any update could even be fairly said to only effect e.g. pkers). High risk, high rewards. Yeah right.

Take couple restores, a looting bag, antivenom, combat gear, that bracelet thing which is way cheaper than it looks, leave 1 inventory space free and fill the rest with high quality food or brews and you can go kill revenants. No damage from revenants, no need to use a single peace of food which means that even after hours of killing revenants, you'll still have the same capabilities to tank a PKer or a small group of those as you had at the beginning.

Right now 52 lvl noob with a blowpipe can go and kill the strongest revenant without taking any damage. Or even better, a lvl 35 noob with serpentine helm (it's a dream place for defence pures).
Not even Venenatis or Callisto safespoting offers such easiness!
Sure it's packed with PKers now, but it'll calm down.

I would strongly suggest to consider following changes:

a) disable looting bags within revenant caves
b) greatly reduce drop rates for bracelets and ethers
c) disable all types of teleports within revenant caves or at least add 20 seconds or so after combat requirement to use any teleport.
d) leave only one exit in 40 lvl wild. Current entrance/exit in lvl 17 wild can function as entrance only.

I initially felt inclined to side with Jagex on this update for a few reasons. However, after doing part of mage arena myself, I gotta say - Jagex completely dropped the ball on this. First of all, the demons themselves have virtually no respect for lore whatsoever - I don't care if you give me some lame excuse like Kolodion was having fun with paint; Demons are a Zamorakian race and to make Saradomin and Guthix demons is an insult to the entire questing community.

Secondly, the mechanics themselves are nonsensical. Foremost being that it just doesn't follow that you have to kill the demons 5 times to get three capes. Each heart should correspond to a cape - You want us to kill all three first before we get any cape? Fine. But if he really needs the hearts to make the capes as advertised, he shouldn't need the extra two. It just doesn't follow that the first two are disregarded. With this redundancy, you insult the PvM community. And now all of a sudden you've insulted two communities which together make up, I'd guess, about 70% of your player base.

I made a reddit post just three days ago saying OSRS needs more developers. But its worse than that now - the developers they have need much more oversight on TAPP projects. No personal pet project done in an hour on a lunch break should be going straight to live game, even after the week or two of full [Being what, by the way? 3?] developer commitment. Optics matters, Jagex.

I am very disappointed in the caves, with no unique drops they are just a Hodge Podge of balance breaking coin drops.

This is something that should have been put on hold until it was finished. I would have voted no on these caves if I knew they would be released in this form.

(Please stop throwing random noted drops into the table of monsters to balance it out. It's an awful mechanic that was never part of actual old school)

Why on Earth was this released without proper drops. There is no reason at all to drop things like d legs down to alch price they may as well drop stacks of coins.

This is 100% what happened when they took the wild away and they dropped ancient statues that people afk with 75k of junk until they got max loot potential.

Massive gp inflation, they could have atleast given us another option to vote for rather than repoll the same content it failed once why did they think it would pass 1 week later with no changes.

It's almost like they made the drop table awful for game integrity just to teach the no voters a lesson.
