Hey guys, we really appreciate all your feedback, it has been really good to see this discussion. As I am sure many of you can see, the community certainly are divided on this issue, so we are not going to do anything
yet
. Instead we shall keep this thread open to continue gathering feedback and see how things change (if at all) over time.

Thanks for taking the time to post guys, it is much appreciated.

Is anyone else worried about the 'yet' in that statement?

I think bonds for oldschool are a good idea but I'm not sure how the prices would be since oldschool has no auction house (other than *****'s price guide).
If they are too expensive, people would rather transfer gold to RS3 and risk getting scammed and if they are too cheap, people would transfer gold from RS3 and also risk gettign scammed ...

You guys need to implement a gold swapping method that taxes the player depending on how much they want to swap thus taking player-hosted gold swaps out of the equasion.

The simplest solution I can think of is having an NPC take your oldschool coins and place a non-tradeable bond in your RS3 bank. The problem is ... how many coins?
This would make a good money sink and you wouldn't have to implement bonds in oldschool at all.

"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape."

If that breaks then I'm out of here!

(The RS3-OSRS trade I don't mind because there's no official channels so you could get scammed. OSRS doesn't offer a legit way to swap gold so I'm fine with it)

It definitely worries me. All I can think to do is reiterate my resistance to bonds in Old School every day that they continue to monitor the situation.

I'm not sure if I support bonds in 07 or not and here is why:
Since 07 and RS3 membership is combined, people could then use their RS3 AND 07 gold for membership. I already know a lot of 07 players who sold everything they could on RS3 to buy bonds for 07 membership. So if you allow people to buy bonds with 07 gp as well this will devalue bonds on either end. On RS3 1 bond = 6mil, but on 07 1 bond would probably equal 1.5mil. It would be very hard to balance two different economies around bonds so that a bond is not easier to obtain on 1 game than the other.
On the other hand I also know a lot of people who play 07 and reluctantly still log on RS3 just to gain 6mil for a bond to play 07 for two more weeks. Introducing bonds to 07 would allow players to at least earn the bond on the game of their choice, but as I said above if you can get 6mil for a bond on RS3 in two hours but it takes 4 hours to earn 1.5mil for a bond on 07, It would devalue the bonds on 07 because the RS3 bonds are easier to obtain and they both do virtually the same thing. Not to mention this would devalue bonds and membership all together

I don't really mind, TBH, I think that if I get rich in oldschool I will still eventually buy the real rares from it and since that's impossible on oldschool I will have to do it in the game that I don't really play.
If I play it, I only play with GE and most of the time I can't even play it because of the antihacksystem that asks for a email that I don't want to have.
