Still no to this trash. Honestly, just poll bonds anyway so you can see how miserably it fails and don't leave that open-ended, backhanded and shifty "yet" in there. Let this die so conversation can move to more productive things and not have to be used up showing you how much we hate this idea just to keep the potential of it at bay.

Not to mention the encouragement to use bots. Reallocation of gp as ofcourse there is no creation hence the source will be 10x more likely to bot to grow his/her business and become rich irl and in-game. The source dies, recession comes in, kids quit; the death of osrs just like eoc. Do not take this offense but EOC has no economy meaning no reward for work, you win because you want to not because you earn it. Nuff said.

I dont see why people are against this...

1. you can buy bonds with irl cash and then trade the RS3 gp for OSRS gp already (so being able to skip out the middle man is the only thing bond in osrs would be acheiving).

2. every update in OSRS is polled so there wont be any squeel or solomons if the community dont want it.

3. it creates a gp sink for OSRS.

you are all so blind by how rs3 has failed in the past to realise that those kind of things wont happen to OSRS because of how it is developed and created. every update in OSRS is polled to the community and if the community doesnt want it, then its not added into the game (unlike RS3).

saying that is also true for bonds but i see no downside to it. Unfortunately its not up to me tho i guess :3

10/10 support.

Bonds will discourage gold farming & gold buying.

I hate bots.

Also if I ever wanna help my friend out to play old school since there's no F2P, I can drop 1m-2m on a bond for him to play with me.

A lot of people (and I would love to see it polled to see if it's more than 75%) think that gold transferring between the two games is cheating. Coming up with a way of legitimising that cheating is not considered a solution by many (banning gold swapping is).

Not true. While we may like to think that, it is ultimately Jagex' decision and all they would need to do is say "It's vital for the continuation of the game" and introduce it regardless of the opposition (look at the introduction of buyable spins, non-cosmetics in Solomons shop and the introduction of bonds where they have done this previously). I would even go so far as to say that even our OSRS Mods could be overruled in this respect.

No it doesn't. Player A buys a bond with real-life money and sells it to Player B for gold. The GP has merely transferred from player to player. What HAS happened is that Player A has effectively bought gold for real money.

Again: No, sorry. The bots in RS3 were heavily reduced BEFORE the introduction of bonds. Bonds may drive the price of RWT gold down, but the gold farmers have zero cost involved - any money they make is profit so there is no incentive to stop botting. In fact, with the ability to buy their bots membership with GP the reverse is probably true.

Interestingly, I don't see why people support this...

Yes to OSRS bonds. Being able to pay for membership with in game gp is a very nice option that Jagex got right. The poll system exists so that we can choose the good updates from the "future" while still playing old school. Bonds are a keeper, lets add them to OSRS.
