Hmmm - ten hours short of 3 days since the last J-Mod post.

None of them work weekends, not even the guy that deals with the bots.

Which raises the question about why they drop a bombshell like this late on a Friday afternoon.

To let the issue have time for players to notice and react to it. Also weekends generally will have higher amounts of players online, so an even higher number of players can get word of the issue.

Personally Bonds have helped me save lots of IRL money by letting me buy bonds with GP from other players who spent the irl cash on them. There is no other way, the whole point of them were to pick up the demands of RWT after bots near total removal.

Last stop being
naive
like players on oldschool have no way or 'less likely' to RWT. People still RWT with 3rd parties not to mention people transfer gold from RS3, which they could of easily bought through bonds. I even have friends that buy RS3 bonds for membership to play oldschool. Honestly Bonds IMO are right in the middle where both the pros and cons equal each other.

The fact that micro transactions came into rs3 was disliked by many players, myself included at the time, however as time has passed I've come to realize that at the end of the day micro transactions are the less of two evils. They allow players who wish to to purchase gold or other items in the game SAFELY and securely without running the risk of being scammed or having their credit card information stolen.

Sure, buying items can be deemed as unfair but you need to remember not all people buying bonds are spoiled children using their parents credit card. There are many players now days who are out of school and are working full time, who therefor don't have the time to grind endlessly. It allows these players to take some shortcuts and achieve goals which they would otherwise be unable to achieve.

At the end of the day bonds allow us as players to support the creators of this game for a in game return, which I as a player support. Who knows where Jagex would be financially if it wasn't for bonds?

In regards to bonds on oldschool, would vote FOR it, simply because it would again give players a SAFER way of transferring gold to oldschool, a practice that will be happening regardless of being introduced or not.

Regards

M

I hope everyone realises that this is the community's fault to even bring bonds into the conversation. There are so many people who do that stupid 'swap' from eoc to os gp. If nobody did this, bonds wouldn't even be a conversation.

But, apparently the community has no problem whatsoever dealing with outside resourses for osrs gp. So why not bring bonds into the game so nobody gets scammed or hacked?

We're well aware of the issues that this community will have with bonds, which is why we mention that if you want the good side, you need to be prepared to accept that at some point someone will have to buy the bond for real money and sell it for gold.

Makes the OsRs community sound like its full of babies...

oh wait.

I am one of these people. I work more hours in one week than most people work in two.

I don't support bonds. If you want shortcuts and easy goals, that is what RS3 is for, keep that cancer out of OSRS.

I know several people who play MTG.

Some of them don't really have time to build decks. They play, but due to lacking time to really think about and refine an idea.

However, they do have money. Why can't they buy a little certificate from WotC that will make their card better in some way? That would allow them to put less time and effort into the game but still compete.

Of course, that's what it's about, coming up with the best possible deck to win, just like RS is about the grind to get to your goals.

But still, if it is acceptable to be able to get around restrictions by throwing money at it, why not?

@Rawrylol , Just saying, years ago I used to spend over $100 usd every two weeks on gold. It's not that crazy if you're a working adult with money to spend. But because of oldschool it's actually made me want to play this entire game legitly, and achieve everything without the help of real life money. This game doesn't need to start implementing some of the things that caused RS3 to have many downsides, so i'm totally against this.

Jagex doesn't even need to poll this just implement the bonds as a security measure. Due to all the scamming by rs3 to 07 exchange swap clans.

Security update does not need polled just fixed.

Great advice from a RS3 player.
