Seriously? We're considering bonds? Bonds were one of the worst updates of all time. It's no fun at all playing a game knowing that people can buy success with real world cash. Why should I slave away for a week to make 2m when I can just buy it with real world cash? If you're not a high level and have middle class wealth in real life, it will definitely be easier just to buy bonds for cash than to actually play the game.
This is a fantasy game. We don't want to be thinking about our bank account and marketing gimmicks all the time. We play this game to relax and get away from it all.
Don't try to innocently group bonds together with a Runefest promotion update. OSRS players don't play RS3 and therefore don't care about Runefest.
Right now it's already bad enough that people can buy bonds in RS3, sell them for GP and then trade it for Old School GP. Thankfully there are scammers to discourage people from doing this though. Bonds would be much, much worse because there would be no risk. Just instant GP that's worth it for any non-high level player.
