Full support. What people are worried about happening already happens. People can either pay money to a third party to get their gold (and risk getting banned) or pay their money to Jagex to get bonds on RS3, before transferring the money over to OSRS (and risk getting scammed). A lot of people would vote no to this based off a fear of something that is already in the game.

I really hope they could just add this without even polling it.

Rwt been happening since day one via trading/transfer guild, which most of then r just scammers. I dont know why ppl r against something thats been happening ever since day 1.

The ability to transfer wealth will see a massive return of old players, real veterans back to old school, and not the many fake ones that rwt their lv up in old school.

Bonds have my full support.

So your argument is that because people already do it we should make it allowable?

By that rationale botting and scamming should be made allowable. Wouldn't it make better sense to crack down on the rule breakers instead?

So what your saying is we should support transferring wealth rather than make it officially illegal? Also how would transferring wealth attract new players? The only thing it's going to do is make 07 easier and it will turn into another eocscape and that's why people don't want bonds in our game.

Bonds should be just to allow membership, not money in game. If your company sets rules and then breaks them it shows you have no backbone. You said no microtransactions will be put into OSRS. Your word is all you have. If you can't keep your word you're shooting yourself in the foot and you will end up losing all your core OSRS players: the players who made this version of the game come to life. We're sick of the RS3 mediating. This is OSRS it has nothing to do with RS3. If people don't wanna put in the hard work to get rich and train, they don't deserve to play. If you have a problem with this... it's time to make a 3rd server where you allow all your microtransactions and reniging of your word. Otherwise, if you forcefeed us lame updates like this we will quit and you'll find yourself losing players rather than gaining them.

We don't need bonds. The risk that comes with swaping GP is the risk people deserve to experience. It's an illegitimate way of gaining xp and wealth in a game that is suppose to reward hard work and time (yes no*ifing even).

The fact that you even needed to ask the OSRS community this question is dismaying.

I used to hold Mods Ash, Mat K, and Reach (as at that time, they were the only three Mods in OSRS) in high esteem as "the only three Jagex employees who were doing anything right". I am very disappointed in Mod Mat K now, to see in this forum that he is now even discussing bonds for OSRS.

The other Runescape (RS2/RS3) went through many updates that were hugely detrimental to the game. The following is not an all-inclusive list, but some of those updates were:
* Members Loyalty Programme;
* Refer-a-friend Programme with bonus XP given to the recruiter;
* Selling spins for the Squeal of Fortune;
* Sizzling Summer 350,000 XP and 700,000 XP lamps;
* Solomon's Store;
* Vanity items that could (during that time) only be obtained through purchasing 90-day or 100-day Runescape cards;
* The Squeal of Fortune being used to introduce new tradeable discontinued items like the fish mask and the crown of seasons, even though Jagex previously promised 'there will not be any more new tradeable discontinued items';
* Premium membership.

When bonds were introduced into RS2/RS3, that version of Runescape was already badly broken.

"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in Runescape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues Runescape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in Runescape."

If you bring microtransactions or bonds to OSRS, then I am cancelling both my RS3 and OSRS membership.

No No No No

This is the first step to ruining old school. It is doing so great, do not throw that out.
We don't play Rs3 for many reasons, and bonds is one of them. Anyone who wants Bonds is making a quick judgement without realizing what it does.

Not really any issues with this wouldn't change the game in the slightest. Though the idea that it would some how prevent rwt or gold swapping is completely laughable. To any person who can think logically this idea is just a waste of code due to how irrelevant an update it is. I will try and explain why it wouldn't solve anything whilst simultaneously not ruining anything.

Answering those against
1) "But this essentially legalises and makes rwting easier" - So what? Legal or easier it wouldn't prevent it, the amount of rwt would remain relatively stagnant. Plus I have my own doubts about making it easier, both require payment details etc to be filled in the only difference is the website being used.

2) "this is old school not rs3 we don't want updates" - I agree but look at all the updates that already here this is in no way old school any more.

Answering those for

1) "It would help combat RWTing" - In what way? Bonds are really just another form of currency redeemable in runescape membership and whatever jagex accepts them for, and wouldn't alter the amount of rwting.

2) "It would help combat rs3 to rs07 gold transfers" - How exactly? I don't see how anybody could ever logically reach that conclusion.

So what? That's a good attitude lets just let them break rules and let Eoc ruin our game by trading their money for ours and making our game pay to win like theirs, but all in all your right about this being a waste of time to even discuss when they could be doing things that are actually beneficial like I don't know maybe changing the name of old school because most people I know see it as just Runescape that has a chance of being good.

I think it's safe to say that runefest has been completely forgotten by this point.
