If I'm not mistaken, the vast majority of people began playing OSRS because "RS3/Eoc" became unplayable in the eyes of most. Whether they specifically brought back the 2007 server or the server prior to EOC being released, people would have been happy.

The fact that it was "Runescape from 2007" wasn't the reason I started to play OSRS, it was simply because EOC was hardly even Runescape anymore.

I understand what you're saying though, for those people who prefer to play OSRS for the soul reason that it's from 2007 and it's so basic, it would make sense not to have the G.E., but for just about everyone else, the update would be great.

The reason players wanted 2007 rs in the first place was because it didn't have the GE and suggested prices on items, not because of EOC. A whole lot of players wanted 2007 back for a long time before EOC ever came into being, and I'm one of them. The only reason I'm playing oldschool or runescape at all anymore is because oldschool has no GE.

Personally, I'm all for a full G.E. system being brought into OSRS.

I don't play this game to sit around and wait for trades to happen. I don't like to have to use other sites (not sure if I can name) to find out prices of items and hope that someone is looking to buy or sell that item.

Sure, interacting with other players is great. When I was younger I had plenty of time to sit around and chat, and plenty of time to type "Buying full rune 200k" countless times. These days I just want to play the game, level up my skills****, etc. Trying to track down specific quest items, or just general supplies for hours is not something I enjoy or want to do anymore.

This "Auction House" idea seems pretty good from what I've seen so far, but I'm just saying I'm in complete support a full-blown G.E. being brought into 07scape.

ty jagex

Oldschool hippies (players who go against ANY update because "It's not oldschool" or "It turns the game into EasyScape" or "It'll turn the game into EoC" or "players just want that because they want Pre-EoC" no matter how much Jagex tries to meet in the middle; they're headstrong to the end) and Oldschool veterans (players who go against SOME updates for the same reasons as hippies but actually have reason to be concerned and, much like the hippies, don't want Jagex to go down the same road to EoC, but are less paranoid about that than the hippies) will never support the G.E., probably for the sake of the community/economy or because of how it replaced Free Trade. Their anger towards that will never die and "The Grand Exchange" will NEVER exist. It may not make sense, but understand passion and logic never mix well.

However, Jagex is trying to meet in the middle to make trade easier while not making something that resembles "The Grand Exchange" enough to make players angry. This is the best it's gonna get for you pro-G.E. players. A full-blown G.E. will never exist again.
I'm a huge fan of Construction; love the skill. In particular I'm absolutely fascinated with the
Player-Owned House Dungeon.
My dream is for everyone to be able to build their own personal PvM challenge, one that rivals even current content.

Although I do hate trading sometimes, I do enjoy the face to face trading as it is, thus I won't be able to give non-subjective feedback.
What I do want to see is little reason for merchers to ruin the market, I personally would like it for stuff like buying that one silver sickle for that one quest instead of walking around all day hoping to bump into someone to get it, which does have it's charms as well.

I don't want to have this GE type thing in the game, it was fun and certainly useful, but it isn't in the spirit of OldSchool.

Perhaps I am the only one who likes the way it's going now, as clearly you've been pointed at this "problem" a lot for you to mention it in the first place.

Don't make it too easy for us, it's fun in the beginning but it clearly makes people lazy in the end, keep this in mind please, that's all I am asking.

We were told that we would never have anything similar to a ge yet here comes an auction house. Next thing you know they will stop dropping rares as well. Don't get me wrong I am in no way against changes, as long as they are for the good of the society. A lot of people enjoy the fact that 99's aren't as common in 07. I mean yes there are quite a few combat 99's as a well as cooking and fletching, but some of the other skills such as crafting or con barely have any 99's. I don't believe this is from people having the lack of gp, I believe it is from the fact that even if you are just buying items you still ahve to work for them. You have to fight through crowds scanning for what you need, risk being scammed or just post things and continue training and wait on someone to pm you. Once you can throw cash in a box and get what you want instantly 99's will be nothing anymore. Any buyable 99's will no longer be unreachable. Once that happens, just think about what changes may follow. If you are really an OSRS fan I encourage you to vote against this auction house because of how easy it will make obtaining the materials for 99. If you want an easy game please just go back to EOC.
