Im so fed up reading what the players that keep posting
excuses against auction house or a G.E.
Either a A.H. or G.E. will bring new members to osrs.
Do these people against both have a hidden reason
not to want it beside what they keep posting?
Just wondering.

People don't know how to trade properly, don't want to put in the effort, want to be a lazy ass and do it offline so now we get a GE lite version?

I'm very sceptical about this, it basically made the game go onto easy mode and some skill capes worthless.

I honestly don't know where I stand on this.

"You should be able to trade when you are offline"

Offline can be interpreted as "chat is off but player is still in game". The concern for many was the amount of time involved when buying or selling, time that could be spent playing the game. Merchanters will not be affected by the need to have the chat set to on but others could. Requiring the friend's chat to be set to public to enable the sale of an item(s) will force players into a possible uncomfortable situation. ie. #1 overall player sets chat to public so to sell something, players begin swamping that chat.

What is the correct intention of "offline"? I do hope it is that the player is in game but with chat off or set to friends only.

Face-to-face trading is part of the game, and a part that I thoroughly enjoy. It should not be dismissed as an inconvenience and removed.

Zy is a successful format enjoyed and accepted by many with very little disagreement. They just need to add this format to the OSRS home/forums.

Jagex isn't supporting face-to-face meetings. Apparently according to the survey the majority of players who took the survey either want to be able to trade from afar or don't care whether they meet the person they trade with as long as they get their items.
I'm a huge fan of Construction; love the skill. In particular I'm absolutely fascinated with the
Player-Owned House Dungeon.
My dream is for everyone to be able to build their own personal PvM challenge, one that rivals even current content.

Easy mode? Skillcapes worthless? That's far from true.

Trade is trade; making trade easier is a quality of life update. Trading in and of itself makes the game significantly easier, but a trade update only makes trading easier. It doesn't make other gameplay easier; it makes trade shorter so you can get to the other gameplay faster. Making trade smoother or easier saves time and helps to further the progress of players' characters. If you want a challenge then try playing the game with no player interaction.

This update COULD affect the economy as everything in Runescape does, but to make a skill lose its merit? This isn't Runespan, and you don't get xp from trading, so you got nothing to worry about there.

That being said, I prefer meeting players in person to trade. I prefer trading the way we do today considering there's a trade site already that I use. I don't find this update to be necessary, so I guess we're on the same side. However I'd like you to see this update for what it is rather than what it is exaggerated to be.

Personally, I'm all for a full G.E. system being brought into OSRS.

I don't play this game to sit around and wait for trades to happen. I don't like to have to use other sites (not sure if I can name) to find out prices of items and hope that someone is looking to buy or sell that item.

Sure, interacting with other players is great. When I was younger I had plenty of time to sit around and chat, and plenty of time to type "Buying full rune 200k" countless times. These days I just want to play the game, level up my skills, go pking, etc. Trying to track down specific quest items, or just general supplies for hours is not something I enjoy or want to do anymore.

This "Auction House" idea seems pretty good from what I've seen so far, but I'm just saying I'm in complete support a full-blown G.E. being brought into 07scape.

I know I don't speak for myself only, so please, do respect the fact that old school players did pay membership to play THE OLDSCHOOL runescape, and not some RS3 wannabe server. If you want, make a runescape v2.2 but keep this one like it is.

This solution would be great of RS3. Not here. Why? because the ability to buy while being offline would drop the demand price. Pretty simple fact and needs to be understood by the almighty Jagex. If you want GE, go to RS3. Leave OSRS alone.

Terrible idea. I'm against anything that will eliminate w1 and face-to-face trading, which are some of the most fun parts of OSRS.
If Jagex wants to make trading easier, all they should do is integrate the functionality of the ***** price guide and exchange into the game or just host it themselves and link to it in game.

@CESTQUOICA (sorry lol, idk how to specifically reply to people.. It's been a while since I've used the forums)

If I'm not mistaken, the vast majority of people began playing OSRS because "RS3/Eoc" became unplayable in the eyes of most. Whether they specifically brought back the 2007 server or the server prior to EOC being released, people would have been happy.

The fact that it was "Runescape from 2007" wasn't the reason I started to play OSRS, it was simply because EOC was hardly even Runescape anymore.

I understand what you're saying though, for those people who prefer to play OSRS for the soul reason that it's from 2007 and it's so basic, it would make sense not to have the G.E., but for just about everyone else, the update would be great.
