No as a minigame. No as a skill.

I'll take some LONG lasting construction shortcuts.

Some new trees and a new resource area.

The Tiers are so unbalanced in accordance to xp ratios. There are no efficient training methods past the tier 2 master as far as gathering goes.

It seems Jagex doesn't understand their own game mechanics as much as the players do. Or they are purposely listening to extremely worthless suggestions and not giving any thought at all about what actually needs balanced for decent gameplay.

At first this skill was designed to be a crafting only skill. Now it is a gathering skill, with an option to craft. Vote again PLEASE. On that very topic alone my feelings changed toward this skill. Downhill it goes. Into becoming the worst skill ever released by JaGex.

Suggestion:::: Realize this skill is now pointless. And don't release it.

Did the people so desperate for the gathering aspect of this skill not realize that by making it crafting only, the supplies needed(gathering) would become extremely profitable to skill. Whereas as it stands now, there would be no boost to the economy as the skill is completely DIY. Look at the big picture here. Not just at the individual.

If you like the idea of gathering. There can be a super fun gathering minigame where you gain bonus xp rates and spend points on your cheap inferior barely noticable skilling rewards which don't counter the mistakes you make when skilling that hurt your xp rates anyway. (A bit of a rant)

Artisan NEEDS to be crafting only. I figured people would know this, as the definition of what it means to be an artisan is simply; a craftsman.

BUT, you're in way too deep now JaGex. Go ahead and continue listening to the wrong players. And create the worst thing for OSRS yet. An update that doesn't even make literal sense. An Artisian doesn't gather! Foolish! Don't call it Artisan if there is any gathering.

I think I found a skill name for this new skill: Employment: For artisans who gathe

I may not be an OSRS player but I think this skill is not good for the game's future. Yes, I can accept the fact that OSRS will be taking a radically different path than RS3. However, adding content of this sort is bad for the health of both games. I don't want to train a skill that isn't thought out well. At least with Divination I can enjoy gathering existing raw materials fast and open Dungeoneering doors I don't have the levels for.

Just release the Summoning skill to OSRS and be done with it. That skill has more to offer than this.

TLDR; Bashes this skill because it doesn't offer enough benefit thus "not good for the game".

Wants summoning instead.

Are you serious dude? Oh and summoning isn't that simple if you haven't heard.

Voting no.

The rewards of Artisan allow you to gain exp quickly in other skills. Cutting trees faster, getting fish faster, etc.

This is just another way of introducing bonus exp.

I gotta say no.
Aren't we playing old school runescape for a reason? isn't there a reason we all voted for 2007 scape to come back? why are we trying to modify, and change a great game?

Let's all be happy with the 2007 scape we all love and enjoy before this too becomes corrupted like rs3 and i quit once again.

You finally brought my childhood back jagex, now stop trying to crush it on me again.

The game would die out eventually without updates, as much as I would like to play the game the way it used to be the player base/growth just isn't enough without updates.

As long as the updates are voted on and are reasonable without anything being overpowered I don't see a problem with these updates, this coming from somebody who was dead set against any updates at the beginning of the game.

Since then I've realized this doesn't need to be just another 2007 private server, it's basically a different path for the game to take from the 2007 era.

This doesn't seem like a bad update to me at all, maybe a few things should be tweaked but they can be worked out before launch. You guys can shout "NO UPDATES KEEP IT OLDSCHOOL" all you want but you will only end up hurting yourselves and reducing the lifespan of 2007rs.

Also I should point out i'm totally against things like changing the graphics/introducing any of the old broken content/weapons into the game, I do want this game to keep the old school feel as much as anybody else.

Tldr; The game wont survive if it doesn't have updates to keep peoples attention.

This argument comes up a lot.
Many of the people opposing this update in particular will oppose every update, we all know that. However, me and many others totally agree that osrs will die without new content. That is why so much new content has passed already. We just don't think this content in particular is worth adding to the game; it's better if the developers put their mindpower to things that are hard to say no to, like quests. New skills are too easy to hate.
