Still gonna vote NO because its adding way too much to Old School RuneScape.
Maybe being a task system like slayer is wouldn't be too bad, but I don't like all these new items.

This is called Old School RuneScape for a reason...its old! Back to the way it used to be when I was younger, not new and different!
If I wanted to play RuneScape with a new skill, I'd go play RuneScape 3 with Divination. There's a reason I pay to play Old School RuneScape and it's because it's old and the way it used to be.

Hey man, I can understand the nostalgia from playing when you were younger, but the game has to have new and interesting content. This content presented is in no way the final form, it's not even claiming to be balanced. I like the skill, contrary to how it started. In its current form I'd vote no too, but I have faith in this dev team.

Don't think of it as the oldschool you played when you were younger. Think of it as a Runescape that took a different path, a path not leading to EOC.

I have to admit that I was fully prepared to vote no to the idea of the new skill, but after reading this, I'm all for it. It actually doesn't sound bad at all.

On that note, I don't really like the Runecrafting robes that give +6(?) to your level if you have the three pieces. I think it should be limited to only +3 bonus (or the highest level robe piece you can wear) if they're added at all. I just think Runecrafting (like Slayer) is known for being difficult and profitable because of the difficulty/higher levels required, and I honestly prefer it that way.

I love how it's looking though. At this rate, I'll probably be voting yes.

cant wait. ^_^

But wouldnt it be just awesome if we could get even some short quest before you can start this skill? like in herblore and summoning. The quest could explain this skill littlebit and get people started with little amount of exp.

Honestly, I really like this new skill. they should make all these new items non-tradable so it makes the skill worth doing, like the new fillet fish I thought that was one of the most genius ideas ever! in fact me and my brother were talking about something related to that the other day. and for those who say its just another way of introducing bonus XP, cmon guys! so what you can
EARN
items faster, at least you're not being given free xp and items, you need to work for it to earn more!

so in a nut shell i think this is a great new update for the osrs PVM community.
+1 TO JAGEX
:D

I like the idea on the skill. i think jagex can buff some of the rewards though because they seem useless to me. however, the idea of artisan makes people want to level their non-combat skills which is good to me. i have a question though. why is there clothing that gives bonus xp to the artisan skill? i don't want that because then it starts to slowly turn into what we don't want. anyways
+1 to jagex you have my support :D

After reading most of the comments and of course the whole post I was ready to spill my guts.
I don't think this new skill will be usefull/fun to train. The items that are usefull are mostly only usefull when training artisan, which is kind of a circle argument. (ARTISAN IS USEFULL BECAUSE YOU CAN MAKE THINGS THAT BOOST TRAINING ARTISAN, That's dumb.)

I really appreciate the effort the Jagex team has been putting in this skill, but honestly, making it more rewarding is angering the !@NO BONUS XP@! Community.
Keeping the rewards like this/making it lower, not worth putting my time into it.

The difference with slayer is that you can keep farming the monsters once you have the required slayer level, it's not a requirement to have abby demons as a task to kill them, enhancing the income of abbysal whips in the game.

My only concern with this skill is are you able to somewhat "Profit" from this skill. Likewise leaning towards cash. Because training the skill only allows you to gain bonus XP for other skills while training it. Is it worth training our other skills just to meet requirements for the skill? Because with Slayer people are able to make money by "Drops" so is their anyway Artisan Trainers have a way to make money? From My knowledge, their are multiple skills that involve training Artisan, so is their other benefits that the Artisan Skill can produce other than the fact that we can "Bonus XP".

I see the 2h Crossbows as dead content already, it's like longbows/composite bows.

Giving it the option to hit harder than a single handed crossbow isn't enough as you can wear an offhand with a single handed crossbow to give huge boosts to counteract the 2h already.

Also, can we have Ava's devices collect Bolt Racks? Would be a great change.
