I definitely echo what some others are saying in that I really don't like the idea of dethroning the firecape as BIS, it's an iconic piece of armor and nostalgia is most of the reason I play to begin with. Furthermore it's already good, I think more focus could be added on finding actual weak spots in armor and improving those rather than dethroning already good content.

On the other hand, I really like the idea of a PvM challenge with the TzHaar theme, but would be as challenging to 20 somethings as Jad was when most of us were 12.

I like the idea a couple other people threw out about it being locked behind a grand-master quest leading up to the inferno as its climax; maybe a grand-master quest you need a firecape to start? So while it's extremely challenging and requires you complete the fight caves you don't have to go through the tedious grind of getting a firecape for every single attempt? If you can complete an extremely difficult PvM challenge-on-steroids you'll probably find Jad pretty easy, so all it is is a grind prerequisite. Of course that grind prerequisite could definitely make it more thrilling for some people, as you'd probably have more attachment to not screwing up, and might be more likely to panic. But personally I'd just find it tedious.

As for the reward, I don't know personally what the best direction there would be. On a personal note though I will say it annoys me endlessly that if you want to use a nondegradable melee helmet for something other then Slayer tasks your best option is a nezzy... I loathe that thing, and it's a 50k helmet. Maybe a BIS melee helm? Like some kind of infernal full helm/crown? (Overpowering serpentine in str bonus, as serpentine has venom as a distinct strategic advantage.)

That last bit is strictly me, and I'm sure others could provide far better ideas there.

If you want to keep using the fire cape keep using allot of players nostalgia period ended like 4 years ago. Time to move on.

This is how I will be voting to the 5 questions in the Blog with feedback:

Question 1: Skip/Yes - I don't really care about the new content.

Question 2: No - Creating new best in slow items will always be voted down by me. Make the cape as strong as Fire Cape, but make it look it more awesome. Come on, the cape you're proposing is twice as strong as the current one. Stay away from drugs guys.

Question 3: No - The armour is too strong and makes dragon armour obsolete. Perhaps you could poll the set effect on the side. I'm okay with the armour, but the set effect is over the top. It should be removed altogether or at the very most be 5% attack and strength bonus. It's stronger than Bandos. Seriously, that must be some good shit you guys are smoking.

Question 4: Skip/Yes - Sure, why not?

I'm also not adverse to change, regardless of preference (Full overhaul RS3 grade change aside.) If a new BIS cape is what the majority of the community wants I'll go upgrade like everyone else. Better is better.

Brawny on page 9 also makes a very good point. Barbarian Assault is my favorite minigame. Let's not destroy the minigame, shall we? You're basically planning on adding some shitty content to destroy awesome content that already exists. This update is going to do more bad than good. I'm telling ya right now.

I like the idea of the new monsters but the armour stats will definitely take away from other aspects of the game. Maybe we can make the armour only usable within the Inferno against TzKal-Zuk? This would give players an incentive to kill the monsters for the drop so they will have an easier time getting the new cape. Something along those lines

Very pleased to know there is at least a vocal minority who detests these kind of updates as strongly (probably even more so) than I do who can articulate an argument.

Glad to be voting "no" along with you all for content I'm not so glad to have to do so for.
