After rethinking this update, ive come to the conclusion that its not going to work. the wilderness is awesome the way it is, why change it? This is old school runescape, lets stick to the old school theme.

Here are very simple ways that bring more people to the wild

1) Buff KBD, red dragon drop rates, include dragon pickaxe drop from K*D

2) Buff monsters roaming wild

3) add more rune rocks

4) Add a mini boss that spawns in various locations that has a chance of dropping dragon pickaxe and food that heals 22 in noted form(like 50 noted Cursed Sharks(heals 22)).

5) leave skilling OUT of the wilderness. Its a place for pkers, not skillers. There is no incentive for a skiller to skill for a few extra resources when they can easily die instantly.

Thats all that needs to be done. seriously. changing the entire wild just to bring people to it is NOT a good idea. Im sorry jagex. 2007 is great the way it is, I think this update will do more harm than good.

You understand that 99% of the skillers won't go to wild for few extra resources. Most saying good idea jagex don't understand this.

Could Jagex entice skillers to the wild? Yes.

Faster resource gathering. I get 3 or 4 ores or logs per swing of pick axe or hatchet.
I get double or triple dragon bones drop per kill of a dragon with a tradable swag bag, that allows me to gather more bones and hides per trip.

I gather fish that people buy for lots of gp, thus making risk vs reward something to entice me.

Nontradable could be converted to a crystal item that gives me the ability to gather resources in the wild at 3 or 4 times the rate for an hour or 2. Such an item need to be used and then the ability will last 1 to 2 hours.

I would not risk gathering resources with such an item and risk loosing an item that might cost me 300k. So if the item is common, say for a fire cape drop, the pker would get 20 crystals to sell, and I could buy the item for 10k?

Having 6 boxes at chinchompas isn't that great of an idea, at high hunting levels it's hard enough keeping up with 5 traps. Why not just buff the xp on wildy chins a bit.

Because that would increase xp rates.... i dont have to say much to that but it'll slightly devalue it lol. Which no one wants.

I'll be personally voting no to all the "push skillers into the wilderness". Skillers (Fishers, woodcutters etc) have no chance at all against a pker, and brining "armor and weapons" wont change that - a dedicated pker will have food and supplies that a skiller can not bring if they want to actually skill. Bosses I have no issue with, PvM'ers would at least stand a mild chance - but a fisher who a handful of sharks tops? No.

Oh and sharks would be damaged if you put a better fish in..

Most of the skilling rewards reward the player with the items in a noted or stackable form... smh...
Everything stated here is forwarded from a major corporation. Nothing here is my opinion. Enjoy your salad.

The only skilling thing I like in this blog is the thieving chest and the new fish. Say no to skilling in the wilderness. Baiting skillers to die to maxed pkers is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard.

People that think like this are the ones that are killing the game.
Skillers have a greater chance of surviving than most think. We have like 70 worlds. There's like 20 different locations of resources. You combine that and the chance for a skiller to make really good profit is quite high.

Both those who skill and those who kill benefit equally.

So I spend 30 min in the wild to get a stack of 30 magic logs only to be pked and lose my logs? I would pass. Noted won't entice me to the wild.

And I won't waste time to get a swag bag that can only be used in the wild and when I get killed I have to go get another swag bag.

Heck, most players to get the rune essence pouches go to dimension abyss where it is one vs one to get the pouches. And they only use pouches because they are not risking dying very often.

Just gotta say I'm very impressed and excited for this. I think most of these updates are fantastic and a revival of the wilderness is quite possible. I do have to disagree with all the green dragons being multi-combat though, as teams would continuously attack them and I see them becoming vacant eventually (except for 3 itemers who aren't worth killing). Maybe make the east drags multi and the west nonmulti? Also, the swag bag seems quite OP if food/potions can be stored in it, and that name is just terrible. Other than that, everything else seems great.
