If people vote like this:

"You can trade through the system instead of meeting up?" NO
"If you can trade through the system then you should be able to piecemeal?" YES
"If you can trade through the system then there should be buy offers too?" YES

then they clearly are voting to keep player-to-player trade mandatory
but setting up conditions in case that mode fails

No re-poll. If they're really missing the logic then I don't feel bad.
It's not that complicated.

And you're just so omniscient that you are able to make this deduction that the entirety of the oldschool community lacks a fundamental intelligence to discern the difference between question 4 and it's counterparts being 5 and 6?

Firstly, I want you to read that sentence carefully before you respond and make sure you can comprehend what I just typed and secondly, unless you own Jagex, don't call the community you play with stupid. It's childish and unnecessary, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

So basically you're wanting to add ***** into Old School Runescape? Everything in this Dev. Blog appears to be ***** trading system. It will just be slightly more convenient as it will be in-game. If you're going to add some sort of trading system, it should be closer to the G.E. Obviously not exactly because issue arise with merchers and such. In all honesty though, the G.E. is a convenience to everyone in Runescape; if the Merchanters can be stopped then the market won't get ruined.

It's rather annoying having to go find someone selling certain quest items, or items needed for treasure trails that are just the oddest things. Like a s'nail helmet. You can't just go to W1 Vwest and find people selling that, and not really on ***** either.

All in all, I think there's nothing wrong with implementing a G.E. as long as there are rules to restrict Merchanting. Maybe something like you can't sell that item for a certain amount of time. Obviously still having the buy caps on certain highly merchanted items.

You guys are so scared at polling the GE because you dont want it but i bet it would beat ever single trading solution you guys put in a poll everyday so please just poll it...

You can go to the swamp and kill a snail. Use a chisel to make the shell into a helm.

I realize that's not your point, but it is my point. Every item comes from somewhere. I got my first barb-tail harpoon by going to Feldip Hills. I found someone hunting nearby and gave him the log and knife needed and he was happy to catch one for me.

As it was in 2006, the best thing you can give noobs is information. You can also help them out a bit if that's your thing. Or you might be a noob, either you beg for an item or try to buy it for too much, or ask if anyone knows how you can get it yourself. This is the community/social aspect of old-school that we want preserved; it really has nothing to do with pricing or the GE, it's just that the GE killed it just like WalMart killed the local hardware store. Sure it still exists, like people keep saying YOU CAN STILL TRADE THE OLD WAY IF YOU WANT TO ya but still dead content when 99% of your audience will just shop at the GE.

The only way for this to work is if you are not allowed to trade offline for an extended period of time. Whether buying or selling both can be a huge advantage for bot merchants, it will make things much easier obviously. At most it should be available around 3-4 hours after being offline, then disappear. Great idea though, I'm completely against a ge, but this is nothing like that, this could work well in Old School.

So you think taking offline trading would not allow merchanting bots to continue to make profit while afk? Bots don't go offline...

I personally would rather have a system where u can search for offers on the trading post and add that person to talk to them then be able to trade via pm, obviously it would have to be restricted to both the players being in a bank for the trade to work though.[/quote]
