I'm sure plenty of members have voiced their opinions on this subject so mine won't mean much but it's still a +1.

I personally do not want any trading "solution". As I see it, there are no issues currently with trading in RS07. If this update passes it will be a huge step away from what this game is about. Orginally in 2007 everyone would find a seller/buying and potentially form friendships after meeting them. Player interaction was great and created a nice community. To me it just seems that people want RS3 but without the EoC. Plus, going around Runescape to find the items you need and exploring new areas was great. I know that nearly all of the memberbase has already played RS so they don't feel excited but I think it's an important aspect that needs to be considered.

Also, it feels a lot of people are too lazy to spend time finding a buyer/seller when there is a reputable site with item listings. Whilst you maintain that updates are a result of a majority poll, aside from small improvements to exisiting skills, nothing this big should ever have been considered.

Ultimately those that want a G.E system or this new Auction House will win which is shocking. It shouldn't be named Old School Runescape if this update passes.

Edit: As Fox mentioned on the previous page, bots are the biggest issue with trading and that's not an issue with the trading system itself. More needs to be done to ban merchanting bots. Supply and demand dictates prices and as much as I don't like it, 14k for a prayer pot or 1.4k per shark is the correct rate but only because merc* bots keep pushing prices up. If they were gone, I'd see prices fall.

@Icey Needle. Im Sorry but I have to disagree. From the last ban wave all the prices have risen due to the fact hat when bots are banned supply is less and demand is still the same. This makes legit players like you and me increase the prices since people dont have any other option to buy f

OHHH HOW I LOVE THAT I QUIT MY 13 LEVELS OF 99'S IN RS3 BASICALLY BECAUSE I WANTED TO PLAY WITHOUT A GE.

OHHH HOW I LOVE HOW I SPENT SO MUCH TIME IN EFFORT INTO MAKING A NEW ACCOUNT IN OLDSCHOOL... JUST TO GO RIGHT BACK TO THE SAME THING!!

IF THIS TRADING SOLUTION COMES OUT, WHICH THERE WAS NEVER A PROBLEM, I WILL QUIT FOR GOOD.

ONCE AGAIN JAGEX PROVES TO MAKE CHANGES TO THINGS WE PAY TO BE LEFT ALONE.

"UHM WELL WE JUST WANTED YOU TO PAY FOR THE OLDSCHOOL GRAPHICS, NOT THE GAME ITSELF! --JAGEX

It's so annoying that Jagex still thinks they can make RS better as it used to be back in 2006.
Except for clanchat everything only went worse and worse and worse.

Please stop touching the game Jagex, don't create new items, don't make more easy xp/h possible, don't make faster money/h possible, don't do anything at all.

It's not a wonder that people who liked the F2p part of the game stayed F2p for a long long time, it's because F2p barely ever changed, while P2p did.

Hey guys,
I don't know if this has been brought up already... but how about a compromise?
Instead of having a fixed "online only trading or offline trading for a certain amount of time".
Why not have several options which increase the risk for people who want to advertise their trade for extended periods of time while they are offline.
e.g.
- trade advertisement is maintained up as long as you are online AH takes 0% cut.
- trade advertisement is maintained for 1 hour while you are offline 1% cut.
- trade advertisement is maintained for 6 hours while you are offline 5% cut.
- trade advertisement is maintained indefinitely while you are offline 10% cut.

Instead of removing the ability to profit while offline, just increase the difficulty?
In a way you are paying for advertising space, as you would IRL...
I support the idea for an auction house system, but not the way the GE was implemented, which just made it too easy to trade mass goods.

P.S - The figures above are just examples, obviously would need to be tweaked a bit to balance things out, but difficulty is the key here... Quick easy trades aren't exactly what oldschoolers want.. we just need a better facilitator.
