Question: Should we introduce a trading post where you can post trade offers which will be visible to everyone? Offers will only appear when the seller is online and you will need to trade through the existing trading system.

Yes

Question: If we introduce the trading post, should players’ trade offers be visible when they are offline?

Yes

Question: If players' trades are visible when they are offline, should they be visible for more than 6 hours?

No.

Question: If we introduce the trading post should players be able trade items through it rather than having to meet up to trade through the existing trade system?

Yes

Question: If we introduce a trading post through which you are able to buy items, should you be able to buy only part of a sellers offer if you want? For example, if the seller is selling 1,000 of an item, you can buy only 100 if you wish.

Yes. yes. YEEESSSS

Question: If we introduce a trading post through which you are able to buy items, should you be able to add buy offers for items and let the trading post find the best match for you?

Yes

Question: If we introduce a trading post that matches offers for you, should your buy offers be visible when you are offline?

Yes

I don't quite understand what people find so entertaining about not being able to efficiently get all the items you need to do play the game.

Having to spend 30 minutes just to buy a bunch of pots/food for pvm is not fun.

Needing to buy 2 ranging pots for, for example, fightcaves. And ending up having to buy 100 because nobody will sell you such a low amount is aggravating.

Saying "My world vwest" and "ty" is not 'player interaction'.

I, for one, wish to have a trade solution that will allow me to get what I want in a smooth and fast manner without BS. I would vote for a GE, but seeing how compromises need to be made...this should do :/

Like a lot of other players, from the posts I've read, I'm ambivalent towards the GE/Trading post concept.

In my opinion the main problem with the GE was that it was introduced about 6 months too late, well after the merc* clan scum had already twisted the RS economy into a shambles, and had already made their ridiculous GP fortunes.

This was when the aquisition of wealth became the prime object for many players - wealth meant that most skills were buyable and botable. It lead to the gambling games, which in the main are trust game scams.

Although there are those who obviously merchant in OSRS, they have not been allowed to become the problem they might pose. This may be simply due to the lower numbers of players in Old School, or because most of the players I have met remember playing RS when it was a game that you worked at to develop your character, not a race for GP and capes.

With regard to offers remaining visible when players are offline, surely in a game that is played in all the time-zones of the world, this is more of a neccessity than an option, in what other way can you make a level playing field for all?

I don't think that the questions posed are broad enough for the purpose they are intended, especially with the rider that anything less than a 75% vote in favour will result in the idea being dropped.

6 hours was your idea of a "limited time"...? O_o

My absolute preference is a bulletboard system, alá an ingame zbz system where people need to meet up to trade. However, if an automatic trading system would pass, then please make it that trades are possible only 10 minutes after a player logged out, with a relatively easy way to activate them again.

There will always be merchers though as long as players believe the prices that go around lol and with the different time zones, some items are in higher demand, that's just business. The G.E helped merchers because of it's SET PRICING. Also with the fact that it came when free trade and the wild was taken away, it set prices for new items such as dragon claws...etc so we had to junk trade around the system. Even with the added system *the higher quest points, the more you can trade past limit* the max was only 250k...so if the G.E said claws were 5m...you only can get 5.25m lol but again if you junk traded, you can get what you want. Because the G.E pricing was set based off demand alone, that made items rise. Players are the ones who determine the value of an item based off what it does and how hard it is to get or make it. When you delete one of those concepts, you cause a problem in the economy. The G.E was a great idea until everyone saw the set pricing...if that's taken away along with added features to help buyers and sellers find each other easier by having lowest to highest tabs, offer tabs, when someone is online and offline, when they last logged on if they are offline, being able to see messages in the chatbox about offers made to items or when things sold, it helps with standing for so long in world 1 or meeting up with people. WE STILL WILL MEET UP TO BUY/SELL and STILL go to WORLD 1 but it's just another place to sell like with video games...gamestop sells them but you can also get them online....from walmart...best buy and the list goes on while you still may buy from whichever place you usually buy them from but what if they run out? you go to the next.....more outlets i think they call it. If there is only one person who decides to go to world 1 to sell something and you don't like their price, you're out of luck but there may be someone in other worlds who are pking, skilling, bossing etc who would sell it to you.....

@Cheapnub, currently skills actually add value. You give the example of needing pots and food, if you would train Herblore and Fishing + cooking, you would be able to take care of those most basic needs.. An automatic trading system will devalue those skills, which I think would be a very bad thing to happen.

This isn't even going to fix anything. There will still be morons who post an offer and then 5 minutes later won't even respond to PM's. Way to go Jagex, listening to the minority.

Those issues can be fixed by only showing people who actually have their public chat on, and are online.
