You should have to meet up with the player to sell your items. If not merchanting will be too easy. So obviously no offline trading. I agree with some sort of grace period like 5-10 mins for offer to stay up and give you a chance to log back in. Sellers option if they want to sell as bulk or in pieces.

Man I just want to buy and sell my items at ease and not try to learn economics as I play Runescape.

I want to go and have fun as I play and trading / selling is such a bore to me :(

Pls Auction House or GE

That is perfectly fine as long as there is a steep enough tax to not have merc*s/merc* bots make 20m+ a day doing nothing. when people make tons of money off the GE it ends the game. If they put a 25%+ tax on GE items everyone still get random items they want fast and it doesnt kill real world trading for people with higher end items (ie 1m+ items)

I agree.

ok jagex realise this. you are only ever getting suggestions from the current community. many more people played this game when the ge was first released. the people currently playing are the ones who dislike the ge or are just playing because they dislike eoc so you really cant keep saying this "what the community wants crap" when there are currently so few players, because im sorry we all know if oldschool had a grand exchange, and an option to enlarge its screen you would double the amount of current players it has, and if you were to update the graphics to 2008's you might just have as many players as you used to back in the golden ages.

No to offline trade !! But maybe 15 min is ok. And no to automated trade, players should meet up. Stop being lazy guys, trading is part of the game

If it's not automated, there's no way for it to remain up if they're offline, as they need to be online to trade player-to-player.

I agree nonetheless.

Hello everyone, I am Smith Store! As my name implies I am attempting to create a store for smith able goods to be sold. The trading system update is a VERY important subject to me personally. I am currently enrolled in secondary education for business and finance. The questions will cumulatively be addressed:

A) I personally feel and support that offline trading should be prohibited. Goods being physically traded items in runescape, if a store is closed it is closed. You should be able to place an order within the store, so say if a seller has 1000 of an item for sale. You see they are offline, but you place an order for 300/1000. When the player who is selling the good logs in they will have to decide which offers they accept/who they trade with from there. This I believe will help keep the market more stable, because "frequent trading times" or more popular times of trade will keep the sales fluid. You should also have to meet up to this, being that transferring goods should be done face to face. Travel is an issue often discussed in my trades, and because of that prices sometimes change due to distance traveled for goods/services. If we allow an instant transfer/non-traditional trade exchange we lose the value in which transportation sometimes creates.
Making bids of purchase disappear as well as sales after a set period of time should be done. This will keep fluid buyers and sellers in the market. 2 hours, so incase you leave for just a bit and can come back to see if anyone is interested. Buying parts of auctions should be allowed IF set, the option should be there. Approving the transfer of goods will be the big point in my book. An automatic transaction process removes human interface= more volatile prices/more manipulated. Remember the "pump and dump" clans we had with the ge's initial release? With instant transfers, we create monopolies who manipulate prices by creating "pump and dumps" of goods, buying and selling to themselves....-Smith Store

Just make the GE on 07.. Seriously because that's all this is. I am waiting on GE tbh. I hate having to use Z-i-bez or World 1/2, gets old after a bit..

People seem to be neglecting the fact that offline trading will almost certainly harm the economy as we know it. It's simple supply and demand. When offers remain 24/7, you will not have enough demand to keep competition between prices at a minimum. Turning any sort of profit on production skills such as Smithing and Crafting will be impossible. Mat K, I think you need to explore the potential consequences of each feature, so that people might see the unhealthy impacts they could have on the game, because a lot of people seem to be split between preserving the game's old school integrity and personal benefits. It would be a good idea to help people realize what consequences the different options are likely to have. Hi Mod Ronan
