I'm glad that a
trading system
is going to be added to the game. I don't want to argue with anyone, but I hate the spamming auto-typers filling up the banks. I don't mind even if Jagex adds the GE into OSRS. It makes trading so much faster and you can go play the real game instead of standing in a spot and typing.

By the way, the GE was added
August 2007
. (So technically the GE is old school)

But anyway I support the trading post / auction house / whatever ;)

Please don't start the whole this was here at this date so it's old school lol. I agree with you though but I just want a G.E without set pricing and that's it. That's why so many people were mad because jagex set prices for things and it was sad at what some items were. Not to mention how it was when free trade and wildy was gone.....

I agree that the evolution of combat would have ruined the game if the GE hadn't already killed it. Me and my friends play for another 2 years or so after the GE and quit because of how much the GE changed the game in a negative way and I didn't even hear about the evolution of combat until I came back into the game because of Old School RS. I started playing in 2001 and thoroughly enjoyed the game as a paid member till the GE ruined it. and the GE again Without Taxation!!!! will kill it again. Period.

Please do not forget history.......the g.e aided in ruining it but not entirely because there was something called the removal of free trade and wildy which made jagex set prices on the g.e which then destroyed the game. Ever since the god wars poll, I am constantly seeing people pointing fingers at every other problem except removing free trade/wild which was 90% the problem and it makes me think that those people were not around back then and are just people on RS3 trying to save their game lol...no offence if you just didn't know but this game went from 7k players to 14k players in 3 months or more and I could see why they would do this

I completely understand what you're saying. I agree that we shouldn't destroy the nostalgia of the game and drive away more people, seeing how they've started coming back.

However, trades do take a while to do. And it would be nicer if you could have the trading post handling the trade for you while you can go skill or quest.

The banks are overflowing with spambots. It's hard to trade anything with you losing your message in the hundreds of people. A trading post would be very convenient.

I don't see them removing free trade or the wildy ever again but yes I agree those were horrible. I think you nailed it by saying that the GE was the START of the downfall on runescape and so I would be firmly against almost everything that game out GE and on. I don't believe Old School runescape needs to progress forward with hold runescape did the first time. I would be happy with it being the same oldschool runescape and just every once in a while add a new feature like the motherload mine etc. If you have to add a GE-like system than you Must add a tax!

That is perfectly fine as long as there is a steep enough tax to not have merc*s/merc* bots make 20m+ a day doing nothing. when people make tons of money off the GE it ends the game. If they put a 25%+ tax on GE items everyone still get random items they want fast and it doesnt kill real world trading for people with higher end items (ie 1m+ items)
