Interesting changes :) , the measures against swapping seem fair, but how would we report any suspect of rule-breaking? Would the Support Team know what to look for if someone abuse reported it?

Account Sharing has also been a big issue in the past, and while that's mostly taken care of at the invitational level, is there anyway to prevent/discourage this at the entry level so that Account Sharers don't accrue benefits against the spirit of the game?

Jagex systems used to be much stricter against Account Sharing, perhaps applying some of the back-end resources could help curb the problem at the immediate level?

I'm also perceiving a possibility of players killing their own Mules to transfer resources and weapons. So please consider this as something to check when vetting Deadman Accounts for honest and fair play.

How will they transfer the loot over to their mules originally? they wont be willing to kill themselves because in doing so they will lose levels, i believe muling is now dead in total tbh :)

Hi guys!

I just had a few questions about the permanent deadman mode wolrd changes, you put on the bottom of this thread that you would make some. But you didnt really explain thm, i woul really like to know wich additions or chnges you added to the game mode!

For solo pkers its allmost imposile to have a quiet and discrete pk trip without dying the first hour you skulled up. since theres is such low population on that wolrd and great amount of clans, scouts, snitchers, everytime you go alone pk and you get spoted (wich you will), you are going to die no matter wat to a clan. So theres really no motivation for players like me to keep playing it..

1 week of my IRL time goes to waste in 1 hour when i get spoted.. And dont get me wrong im a pker too and DMM is an awesome and unic game-mode i would keep playing but the mechanics make it so only the players who have backup or someone with them will win. Those who are solo and try to make the best on their own WILL fall (this includes earning your own items and money)

PS: keep up the good work jagex! And allway remember this is Oldschool! Lets not twist this into something we are going to regret later :)

(EDIT: I am reffering to REGULAR deadman wolrds in this post!)

I basically gave up dm mode because of the mule problem... There's no fair way to get ahead if you play by the rules.

How do you get rid of mules? I don't know. I remember mains getting real butt-hurt because I was killing their mules, when they were the ones being unfair and breaking rules.

also, not sure how no trading will work out....making it hard for small groups to pk..

That's a shame, I was really looking forward to playing season 3 because of the possibility of stats trained actually being saved and having an affect on the subsequent invitational tournament.

It was one of the best changes in this list and I'm sad it's been removed. Please reconsider.

Seriously Jagex what are you thinking? You ruined your whole game restricting trade back in Dec. 2007 and you go ahead and do it again?

The only good Change here is the 1 month time for the reason which is perfect since deadman always dies out in 3 weeks. This is perfect.

Trade restriction- If you dont want swapping just say ITS AGAINST THE RULES.. you cant swap in Dmm but you can in rs3/07 and viceversa? I mean Lol.

Theres alot of measures that can be taken to improve/fix clans tagging another player.... This is just plain stupid.. put a timer, penaltys or whatever.


Rip Deadman to be honest.

My idea of improving DMM to the next level is following:

Add a " Purge " timer to the servers. What does this mean? Simply, players have certain (random) hours of the day of " purging ". That means that people can attack each other in certain time frames that the game will inform of. Safe areas would remain the same as they are at the moment. Also there would be " NON purging " hours that will be random as well. The hours of " Non purgable " time would be around 4-6 hours / day, and the remaining 18-20 hours would be the purging time.

How would this help the game?
This would encourage people to quest and prepare for the battles to come and also gain in game wealth. This would make a massive change since there are many dangerous questing areas in the game that clans are blocking. People have become even more afraid of entering those areas and some people may even quit due to the thought of dying and losing all the progress.

This idea could be taken even further ahead. For example there could be some sort of targeting system that would give you an opponent of same combat lvl. As a reward of killing that player you would be awarded some sort of reward that would benefit you in the future of the season etc.

Content, such as barrows / GWD should be limited by a week or two.

I know this sounds like a far stretch, but please leave some comments about this idea! (sorry about my bad english)

I like the idea of no trading and only ge, and also the no zulrah. I am personally a casual solo player, and i only played the first original dmm, but due to unfair advantages i decided that was gonna be my last.

I don't agree with the fact that DMM seasonal becoming 1 month long only, but the final tourney will be held 6 weeks later, meaning there is a 6 week gap of no option but normal osrs only or original DMM.

if you're going to make 1 month seasonals, i think it would be better to make the final tourney right after it. - OR - if you want to keep the gap of 6 weeks, why not do some update to the current Original DMM so ppl might play that instead?, i would gladly play the original dmm again if it would mean more ppl in a world, because right now only 50 ppl in the world at best, meaning it became IRONMAN DMM

Big clans don't rule the game because of "muling", they rule because of overwhelming numbers and ability to get gear quickly in the beginning.
Example: RoT takes over lava dragons --> quick prayer levels, and mage levels instantly gaining an advantage.

Taking out trade? Ok, now that bigger clan all have individual better items and if you die to said clan, you're on your own again.

Muling isn't the problem, huge clans are. Removing trade in no way solves this, only complicates the problem for small teams trying to have fun.

As WigglyBread said, people will constantly upgrade their items over and over for higher safety deposit box ensuring they have no items in their bank and when they're going to die? Simple, drop ALL your items. Nobody gets items.

Removing trade is the worst idea possible...this isn't IRONMAN DEADMAN MODE!
