I don't like the idea of Artisan. All skilling methods within a production skill is pretty much the same. Unlike slayer, there is nsn't really anything to get better at.

I don't quite get what you mean, how does slayer make you get better at something?

Probably the fact that slayer unlocks new slayable content. I.e I'm going for 85 slayer so I can kill abby demons! There's no real 'I'm going for 85 artisan so I can....!'

Any possibility of adding new trees or fishing spots or something and incorporating it into the 'better items' section of the skill? Making some of the rewards of training the 'skillers slayer' skill combat related seems kinda counter-intuitive to me.

Blahhh this skill works so much better with gatherer skills.

As my 07 account is relatively low skilling stats i can see this as a great idea, however the problem i see with this skill is that:

. for new players it could be too expensive to train
. buying the raw materials needed is going to hurt
. some players are maxed and training past 99 offers no benefits

this skill is in dire need of the new trading post system, and to me, seems a warped clone of the Inventor skill Mod Mark is trying to force upon us in RS3.. However this is a far better idea than the Inventor skill and it should, perhaps, be polled on the main game as a replacement for that..

out of curiosity, what were the skill idea's this was polled against? cant we just finally have sailing?

Agreed, perhaps a set of two skills: one gathering new unique items and the other making them into things...

Yeah, I see where you are going with that.

I'll be voting -- NO --

This skill is not very good, overall, and while it was the "best" of the 5 choices, none of the skills polled were any good.

If it's a choice between this skill and none, I choose NONE.

Osrs doesn't need this skill, and the amount of +damage items is rediculous.
Combat doesn't need anymore damage boosting stuff.
We already have more than enough.

Please, for the love of all things intelligent and wise, vote this madness down and put a rest to the idea that osrs needs more skills.

On June 18, do the right thing and vote...

--- NO ---

Awful skill. I will surely be voting no.

And the superior items????? The amount of useless item stacks this will make is outrageous. You can say good fight to your nice organized bank which will now be cluttered with imbued, superior, and god knows what other kind of blessed and upgraded items.

Not to mention the impact this is going to have on the economy...

@mod mat k, Please see that this is not the right move for oldschool and fix this madness.

I actually like the idea...however, is it possible to make the tasks "non buy-able"? If I am assigned 100 yew logs, can the game tell if I went and bought them or if I cut them myself. I would support wholeheartedly if it were not a buy-able option for people to just level at the level of their bank accounts. Too many people already do not "play" the game, they simply buy their 99's and show off like they actually did something.

From best place to kill something, what gear to use, inventory setup, and strategy for beating the monster. There aren't as complex slayer monster and bosses in OSRS like RS3 but its still more than productions skill have. Cooking most foods is just use raw food on fire/range, most of runecrafting is just bringing essence to altar and craft, etc.
