I don't know if this has been mentioned but I think that the superior arrows, instead of disappearing less frequently, should disapear instantly to reduce the number of them in game and at the same time increase the number of regular arrows since more people will be making them for cash.

This will increase the number of regular arrows in game whilst increasing the demand, hence the price of the superior arrows.

I'm gonna copy over a post I made on my blog.

Artisan is an interesting idea but could use serious work

Superior Items

Runecrafters are already hurting from a glut in the market, no need to make it worse.

To get 99 rc or cooking efficiently you need 99 artisan which is an annoyance.

Clothing

Is this a change to your base clothing and you can equip stuff over it? If not the gear has bad stats and will never be used.

Artisan Tools

They give a chance of getting motes through regular skilling. There is no dragon equivalent, so you will have to choose between getting the best exp and getting motes, which is annoying and unnecessary trade-off.

Creature Idols

One of the better ideas for rewards. Some of the monsters are unnecessary though. Nobody kills goblins, wolves, ogres or giants enough to make these worth getting. Noobs may kill ogres/giants but probably won’t bother getting these idols. However, the demon/dragon/humanoid ones will be useful for slayer and pvm and aviansie ones will be good for people who make money off those.

Inspired Carvings

Also a decent idea, probably won’t be heavily used since most people will be using motherlode mine nowadays or mining granite. These will be espe0ically good for people mining runite for money.

I encourage you guys to check out the dev blog yourselves and give Jagex your feedback. The skill has potential and we should try to make it the best we can.

I'd vote no for this I'm sorry.
I'm not too fussed on a new skill to be completely honest.
I'd like to see a new gathering skill if one were to be released, that would open up a whole new world of excitement and wonder.

I remember when the hunter skill was released, I never even questioned it, I jumped straight into it and was completely enthralled in it.
It's honestly my favourite skill and I would love to see an update or new skill of that magnitude bought to light because if anything is going to attract new players, sustain old ones and create new opportunities for new and exciting gameplay, it has to be worth doing and offer complete new items.
Hunting was exciting because of the new combat and training methods available (Chinchompas) and also an amazing money making method.
It was extremely unique and different and I personally would rather see a new gathering skill as opposed to something that is a basic add on to existing skills.

EDIT:

To the people saying nothing should be added.
Yes it's called old school, but all that means, is that this dev team is taking Runescape in a different direction to that of the abysmal state of Rs3.
New things will keep it exciting and sustain the player base, maybe even attract new players (HOPEFULLY).
Why would you not want that?

I have a few questions.

1) Do you have to give said gathered materials to the master?
2) If you do what prevents me from being told to gather 100 yew logs and simply just buying them? This would mean that I get all the exp without the work.
3) If there is some kind of in game counter on how many you cut like slayer do you have to bank the materials for it to count? Otherwise i could again just power cut/mine by dropping and hand over some previously bought logs.
4) Is there any chance of new Hatchets or Pickaxes you make giving more exp to make them rewarding to people other than skilling pures? Or maybe even their just being clothing that does this?
5) Does the Dragon idol work on all dragons including KBD?

Okai, so basically this is a task system, and old school was primarily made to bring back nostalgia of the old game. not make it into something like eoc. if u put in a daily task system with pop ups when u log in if u check it off too do that. then that's fine, 10k xp I u go make 100 green dh bodies. etc.. but a whole new skill over it? whats this bring to the game. expensive economy and the bots that are left will just be making more money seemings it will all rise in price. I feel this is too earily for a new skill for sure. and maybe even too earily for a task system. even thought that sailing thing is a joke, it is more of a skill then this will be. its mainly there to give u the initiative to skill. and this can be done by a task system. there is no need for a new skill to do that. slayer was good because it gave rewards that effected 90% of the game. like a whip for example. with out it we would be using d scimis still. I don't see artisian or what ever effecting this game in a good way.

IMO I'd rather have current skills slightly tweaked to be made better than a whole new skill. I mean I'd RATHER have some skills redone to 120 than a new skill. Would love your input as well. Here are some possible examples/reworks they could do instead of a new skill OR added on towards 120.
Agility- Tweak energy replenishment, obstacles your higher than example trip wire and that stupid log at Ardy are actually able to do without the crazy high percentage of failing them.
Construction- Armor stand that holds your normal gear you wear, being able to mix and mash certain parts of rooms also, magic wardrobe in corner of same room as glory and wardrobe. Fireplace for aesthetics.
Firemaking- Burning magic logs allows to not burn food or at least not past x lvl of cooking. It could even be combined with cooking gaunts to lower burning level.
Fletching- Thumb ring that increases accuracy ( combined with Smithing?) Flu-Flu arrow more accurate for shorter distances. Hell anything from here that actually has to do with range at the bottom of the page. http://en.wikiped*a****/wiki/Fletching

1. You aren't gathering materials. You are training skills which gives you the same amount of xp in both whichever skill you are training, and Artisan. Basically like how in Slayer, the amount of HP the monter has is how much xp you get in Slayer.
2. Woodcutting isn't even on the list of skills, so I doubt they would ask you to get 100 yew logs. Maybe 100 yew Longs. And if you just buy the things, you don't get the Artisan Xp since you only get xp by doing the tasks. You can go buy all the supplies to make the longs, but you can't just buy the longs themselves and that be your task.
3. Woodcut/Mining aren't on the list of skills, again. But if it were, have fun powercutting and dropping Yew logs.
4. I like this idea, though. A little bit extra xp towards gathering skills would make Artisan a bit more worth it.
5. Is it not a dragon?
