---Superior Scroll (Reward)---
Having a greater Artisan level gives the player a potential chance of
creating a Superior item. You purchase the Superior "Scroll" using the Mote of
Inspiration. This allows the player to have that chance of making a Superior
item when making, cooking, and creating. Depending on the player's Artisan
level they can purchase an upgraded scroll for further X% chance.

Further Down I have listed some potential use for Superiors.

----Grinding Reduced----
Work don't need to be grinding like make X Steel Plates. Instead, Work Orders
can be very simple, for example:
* Build a "N" statue for Farmer Pete at "L" out of X clay.
* Another could be, "Repair the house in Varrock. Here is a map, job list- Materials needed: ....)
* Patch up X hole in Fishing Trawler Mini game. Must complete mini game to count.

*Building Unique items such as the Statue requires certain crafting level as
well as Artisan Skill Level. The Statue can be made by the player own to be
placed in their own POH.

*Repairing locations reduces the chance of bank standing. It doesn't require to
make a lot of things and the player is helping out the community. The player
may just need to help out by the NPCs having the materials and the player just
builds/repairs.

*Mini games are becoming dead and a way to have a mini game a live in some small
percent can having them do some kind of Work Order within a Mini game. The
player is gaining mini game points**** Community building, and doing something
different.

I have listed quite few ideas for further down.

-- Rewards/Useful Things for Mote of Inspiration ---
I have a bigger list further down. This is just an overview of what the
rewards/unlockables can be like. Player's can cash in or make useful things with their Mote of Inspiration. I have provided a few example on what things could look like.

*Plain and simple, raw material can be purchased with Mote of Inspiration at
the start. Use your Mote for raw fish, logs, bars, feathers, whatever. Nothing
special.

*Motes can unlock some kind of abilities at certain Artisan Level. Superior
Scrolls are an example of this. Certain Work Orders will be unlocked such as
Repairing a house, Mini Games, building unique items.

*Crafting things to have an in-game advantage such as: Add Plant Cure to Super Compost for a greater chance of crops not getting diseased.

*Rewards to be purchased with the Mote instead of raw materials such as: Sword
Fish Harpoon. These kind of items have X uses and will be destroyed; and can
only have X number on the player, bank, and other location at a time.

Hi,

As many have already posted. I wouldn't like to bring a new skill like this in the game.

It is called oldschool runescape for a reason, I love the nostalgia of it. not the new changes.

More of this will change oldschool runescape, into runescape 3 just with old graphics.

Double runes for RC? Removing combat stats from pickaxes? Only 4 non-combat skills 74+ for the highest Slayer Artisan master? This is extremely disappointing.

This is legitimately the worst dev blog I have read from the OSRS team. It's almost like Mod Mat K (assuming this was mostly him due to the quality of the dev blog) does not want Artisan introduced so he is purposely making these terrible suggestions for the skill.

I can't wait to vote no... unfortunately.

Hello, Mat K! :D

The 2007 forums seem to be full of angst PKers who just lost bank! :@ As a person who is very fond of the idea of the Artisan skill, There are still some CONSTRUCTIVE things to go over. No hate will be involved in any of this in any way.

As you can probably tell, since the bot nukes have been happening, people have been lazy and can't pull their share. I, for one, use slayer drops to fund my skills. But seeing as prices have been rising for items, you could implement a reward system for the tasks. :D

When you talk to the Artisan Master: a window appears(much like the daily challenge system in RS3). From here you can click on a task to do(ie construct wooden tables, pick this many produce, make this many potions, etc)[and to just clarify, you can pick the same skill over and over as much as you want]. As you level up your skills, the window levels up too(after you do this many tasks in fletching, the number of items you fletch increases, and if you cancel one, then the count goes all the way back down to 0, also much like with slayer tasks).

When you are done, you go back to your chosen Artisan Master and get some points towards your Artisan points and a Artisan Bag(inside, various materials you could sell or put to use towards your next task, relating to the skill completed). As you complete the challenges without deleting one, the Artisan Bag gets bigger.

For the points you earn, you could put them towards maybe some untradeable materials for your own use(which also give exp for the skill and a tiny bit of Artisan exp). For example: You chose to spend your points on an Herblore goodie bag. Inside are untradeable materials... lets just say Ranarrs, snake weed, and vials. From here you can make your own prayer potions while still gaining exp for the two skills. You can then use this potion for whatever you want(for me, barrows)

Hope you like some of the ideas. Hope I don't get hate! :|

-Walriss :)

I am primarily a skiller and pvmer. I can't PK to save my life (literally lol), and I'd rather not have this ingame. All of these extra items and random bonuses take away from the oldschool feel. The small chance for extra runes when runecrafting for example make everything less calculable and it really would feel less like oldschool.
