People who are complaining about having a new skill in general have to realize that updates to OSRS are not bad as long as they enhance the existing content instead of introducing complete new, hard to learn "activities"

So far, the updates have done exactly that. GWD enhanced bossing. Wilderness was enhanced in general. Certain new items balanced the combat triangle. And dominion minigame introduced enhancing items such as overloads as well.

Notice how all those updates took the existing content and made it better, they didn't add anything new or hard to learn to the game. Compared to RS3, EOC and certain updates were just not the same game mechanic, so old school players didn't want to learn them.

With all that being said, Artisan is the most comprehensive and enhancing skill. However Forestry and Herding might be argued to be the same by some. We really don't need Astronomy or Geomancy as it is kind of too complicated and out of current spirit of the game.

NOW, the most important thing!!!!! It is the communities decision after all, as we all are the ones that are supposed to run this game. SO WE DEFINITELY NEED A NONE OPTION. We need it not just for those who are complaining, but for the community.

My vote goes out to Artisan even after "None" option has been added.

Let's keep it chill, the game will not get ruined.

not to be a downer but i'm not super excited about any of these. : /
i just don't want something as useless as hunting. (and if you took on chinchompas it would be 99% useless). I would rather see some expansions to construction or thieving.

Osrs dosnt need a new skill! We are very content with how the game is! You don't need to go an ru in this game again!
I appreciate how much time and effort people have put In to designing there new skill idea, but like I said we just don't need a skill pushed in to the game, put you time and resources into finding out what current skills can be improved/ exspanded , if something isn't broken then why try and fix it! Cmon jagex don't be stupid and throw away what you have created

Artisan sounds awfully close to my submitted idea for a skill: Fortune (or luck).

My skill would have been trained the exact way, basically giving you non-combat skilling (slayer) style tasks.

Make 10 iron platebodies
Make 20 red vambraces

etc.

The only difference in my skill was Fortune would have a direct combat link. A higher fortune skill would give you better drops, or it might even help you evade an attack. Higher fortune would give you access to special shops/weapons/whatever.

Since Artisan was so close to my idea-I obviously voted for Artisan :) Seems nice to me.

The other two I want to mention...

Astronomy sounds really neat, I used to LOVE hunting stars in rs3, and I was sad when eoc just didn't feel like the same game. Took all my incentive out of playing :(
Hunting stars was the most fun to do between other skills like rc-it broke up the grind so nicely.

Another I want to comment on is Forestry. I only read a bit, but it sounds like such a neat idea. Keeping up your forest well enough would reveal rewards inside it. I like the idea of trying to keep a living system alive and well-and being rewarded. It seems to have a group component to it also. :)

FFs, jagex why this thing called Artisan is being voted for the new skill. We all know that this is not a skill, its just literaly the daily task system from the EOC, there's nothing new on this ''skill'' there're just boring and stupid rewards, like new tools with no attack requirement, wtf is this! We claimed for a NEW content and you guys pick this.

If he says that the old skills need to get more attention, then you guys should buff these skills , just like you did with mining skill(motherlode mine) and not create a new system that will force you to train them.

Cant you see that ''Artisan" its not even a skill, its just the daily task system from EOC... And it just brings 3 ''new'' rewards, such as non-attck requirement tools, like ffs, why do we need that, we claimed for a NEW skill, so we need something new and original and this piece of **** that you guys are caling ''artisan'' have literaly nothing special and unique. Original message details are unavailable.
I must say, all of these outlines have been put together so clearly and cleverly, especially the Herding skill's explanation - it did an extremely good job of engrossing me and encouraging me to read further. I have to agree, these are they key principles to have in mind when making any change or adding any content to the game as those sort of disruptions are a surefire way to make the players suffer.

However, after much consideration and appreciation for all the other concepts, I have chosen Artisan as my favourite idea. I like its similarity to the concept of Slayer as it primarily involves other skills to train it.

I will be voting NO if we are hopefully given the option as the originalty of the game is what counts for me. Most of the updates such as the Godwars Dungeon and the new items that came along with it I have much appreciation for, but I just believe that a new skill would destroy what Runescape is to me, even though I have the option not to train it. I felt the same with the arrival of Dungeoneering in 2010.

The only reason Artisan is winning is because it's the only skill that isn't completely horrible, while it is still pretty bad itself. The reason why no skills were submitted, is because most of the community does NOT want a new skill.
