They force this type of content because it's low effort and low dev time but keeps many different types of players occupied for a long time, rather than adding 3 bosses or different ways to get the capes (IE the awesome reddit suggestions) they back it all into 1 minigame no matter how illogical it is based on the previous BIS capes and their methods of acquisition.

Would ruin so many aspects of the game, plus pking would be revolutionized without being able to combo eat in 1 tick.

Eroding game integrity in the name of distracting people for 1 month is a poor reason to replace best-in-slot items. I'd rather them improve on existing, old school , content than pump out half baked and (usually) poorly executed updates that just go more and more towards the OP direction Rs3 went into.

If the trend continues in 1-2 years we'll basically be at 2012 RS when people were running around practically 1 hitting each other with stupid items.

It would actually fix PKing so there's actual risk for Dharok PKing, and KOing would happen more often.

I remember when GWD came out I said it was a slippery slope to GE/Corp/etc and people laughed me off saying I was paranoid. Now look at things. If the trend continues in 1-2 years we'll basically be at 2012 RS when people were running around practically 1 hitting each other with stupid items.


I agree in the sense that these updates are eroding the game away but when the majority of players keep voting high level items and pvm as the priority for updates its kind of hard not to introduce new bis items.

Didn't take the main feedback it seems. Will be voting no. Would vote yes to a new BIS melee cape without a cave extension, but no to all 3 capes. Add Mage Arena 2 for a new Magical cape and something with Draynor and Ava maybe for a new accumulator.

I'd rather have slow, good content than rushed, bundled content that doesn't fit with the lore.

Exactly, but at least fire cape is a challenge to the average player. BIS Mage/Range capes make sense since theyre level 40 quest rewards or level 60 magic free content. There's room for improvement with both of these. Monkey Madness 2 is the way to do it IMO. Current BIS gear slaughters all bosses with ease, if we keep adding it anyone will be crushing these bosses. We should save BIS rewards for when they are actually necessary on a challenging boss. Just my thoughts.

Initial thought:
This dev blog has mainly gone into more detail and explained why you are doing certain things isntead of changing parts to improve yes votes. You are already cutting down the development time by 66% by giving us all 3 capes from the same piece of content, If you're going to do this please make new content, no one wants to do 63 easy waves every time they attempt this.

Constructive criticism:
If you would like it to be an endurance battle but do not want to create another 63 waves, do not let us take in any food/potions and provide us with a drip-feed of supplies whilst we are inside the 22 wave Inferno. This way you can control how many supplies we will be able to bring, meaning that you don't need to have 85 waves to ensure we are low on supplies for the final fight.

Also let us fight the new Tzhaar creatures outside of the inferno, but after we have completed it, it would be great if we could receive some new obsidian items from these creatures.
