Oh joy, a summoning rehash. It better not be available for use in PVP or strong enough to trivialise bosses.

-Blast mining activity

I get the feeling that the exp rates for mining are going to skyrocket once this comes out.

- The blood and soul rune altars

That's good, I suppose. EDIT: Why the hell hasn't the blood altar been reserved for the inside of Castle Drakan or the end of the Myreque storyline? That would be much more fitting.

- Tithe farming activity

What, like the Vyrewatch? That sounds interesting, but also like it'll go the way of Burgh de Rott Ramble if there's not a worthwhile incentive.

- New weapons and armour

If they're untradeable or past level 75 requirements I'm quitting on the spot. I don't want to relive the dungeoneering era Jagex, that's why I left EoC for OSRS.

- A new race of Lizardmen to battle

How original. Oh alright, I'll give it a chance as long as the lore doesn't get butchered.

Overall I'm not looking forward to Zeah, as based on prior experience the potential for game-breaking failure is much higher than for success.
Eoc sucks

I'm looking forward to the new blood and soul alters. It looks like they will serve as a nice mid ground between profitable runecrafting like natures, and high xp runecrafting like lavas. Hopefully necromancy puts them in a high enough demand to keep them profitable.

Speaking of necromancy I'm not sure how I feel about this spellbook as all I've heard so far is you're going to be able to bring monsters back and kill them again which doesn't sound too impressive. I guess this is what we get when people don't want it to affect PvP or PvE, despite magic being a combat skill.

Been dreading this update and what comes with it since it's announcement. RIP, fix whats broken before adding more crap people are going to just complain about anyway. I'm sure you guys worked hard on it, but that's the point ... dev time is precious. It could have been spent saving what was really good.

But we'll see, maybe i'm being too pessimistic and am just too used to this gameplay. It's probably going to be disappointing though is all i'm saying.

edit: saw this and agreed.

RIP Prices and rip activities. PLEASE jagex .. PLEASE for the love of christ don't make this dungeoneering 2.0 and crash pvm items atm etc

(Also I posted this on my 45 def account, i'm maxed on another.)

I do use higher pvm gear and it would effect me, and while I would always like to strive for new gear it shouldn't devalue known armor sets to us, it should be incentive based, look at void. It has a percentage based attack that takes a while to obtain and sacrifice defense bonuses for it. It's a bit overpowered if used in proper ways such as a correct Barrage - > AGS combo attack but that's if you can use the armor as I said, proper.

All i'm saying is from a players perspective, both main and as a long time zerker dedicated to both sides of the game DONT DESTROY WHATS HERE, PLEASE.. :/

New armour and weapons eh? No boss to drop them?? Does this mean we may finally be getting back to balancing skills and bossing ? :O I sure hope so..

It would be nice to trade a few hundred hours of skilling for a high end weapon and armour set that is useful .. Just don't go and make them overpowered in pvp/pvm and be sure they are tradable .

"hurr if you're not maxed you shouldn't care about the longevity of the game"

Go back to EoC.

I'm mortified at the levels of hatred for this update, especially since so much of it revolves around how Zeah will affect PVP and PVM, which is only a very small part of the game, regardless of its popularity.

The announcement of Zeah is the sole thing which brought me back to Runescape again. I quit EOC because like a lot of OSRS players, it grew too unfamiliar to me from what I liked to play. When OSRS came out, I was on it within the first week and played for a whole year before the nostalgia wore off and I stopped playing again.

When I heard about Zeah, for me it promised new adventures - A massive new area to explore with the potential for new quests, new achievement diaries, new items, new music, new characters, new monsters and perhaps even new skills. It gave me an incentive to come back and train my skills again in preparation to explore this new area and hopefully be able to access as much of it as possible, and for that reason I hope that it does offer lots of high end game content because otherwise for me, knowing I will never top the highscores, there is no real reason to progress any further than I have.

I can understand how many players are cautious about updates that drastically influence how they play the game, but when I see outrage about things like the Artisan skill or Sailing or a whole new area, which have the potential to bring so much good into the game, I'm astonished. People already hate every aspect of Zeah and we have no idea what it will be like.

Why so pessimistic? I know I'm not the only player who came back because of Zeah. Jagex are putting a lot of effort into making it great and are updating us constantly along the way. Have faith, don't put down everything from the Lizard men to the new Spellbook before you even know what it's going to be like.

Personally I can't wait and I'm optimistic about what Zeah will bring. Give it a chance. :)

Remember Chaotics? Remember Korasi's? Remember summoning? Remember ancient curses? Remember EoC? Remember Squeal of Fortune? Remember Zulrah? Remember NMZ?

There's an extraordinarily high chance that that an update this large could bring about significant negative consequences or fundamentally alter game balance. There's optimism, and then there's just downright ignorance.

Hey, Jagex gets to finally use the Lizardmen models they showed off at osrs' 1st birthday event. :) They were originally going to be in RuneScape, same with the mammoths and they added those in the revamped wildy.

I want to be excited for Zeah, but now reading about "blast mining" I am very afraid of this becoming like RS3's elf city. In case nobody is aware of what elf city was, it was basically a one stop shop for most skills in the game with all very afk and op xp rates. It made pretty much most rest of the game world trivial if everything could be done in elf city with much higher xp rates. It's one way to kill the game pretty fast imo.
