People have so much hate for dungeoneering and summoning, and I've pinned it to two (maybe three) causes.

Dungeoneering: You suck at it. Plain and simple. Dungeoneering brought a whole new (and great) aspect to the game. New weapons and shields for every corner of the combat triangle, and resources for skillers also. If you don't like dungeoneering, you either never gave it a chance, or you were bad at it.

Summoning: You can't afford it. Summoning was great for countless reasons. Sure, bossing got the slightest bit easier (unless you're 96, then it made a drastic difference), but it also made our lives much easier. I'm 99 summoning and would still run around with a terror bird back in the day for the energy return. And that's just one small example. It brought a whole new way to make money into the game (Fruit Bat for example), gave us a new skill (which could only be leveled by leveling other skills with it, kind of like slayer), and revitalized a dying game. So you don't like summoning because you either 1) were too lazy and realized you can't really power-train/AFK it to 99 (ergo, it required some actual effort), or 2) you were too poor to afford it. There's nothing wrong with the latter, besides the fact that you either are oblivious to the thousands of ways to make money, or are too financially unstable to save anything.

So there you go. There's the cold, hard truth.

I'm beyond excited for Zeah. Sure, it has the opportunity to be a terrible update. But why focus on that if you actually like the game. The only people I see getting irritated are the PvP focused people. PvM focused people are typically excited to try out all the new toys that Jagex gives us. You were all excited when GWD came to OSRS, and we all know it was solely because you had your AGS back, and could go around smacking 70's like it's your passion. So give something new and overpowered a chance to compete before you lose your minds over nothing.

Overgeneralizing a bit I believe. People don't want Dungeoneering for a few reasons. The first was that people don't want the lv 80 power creep. Another is that the best weapons in the game were untradeable which hurt bossing because it diminished the value of the tier 70-75 drops without introducing new drops. It also hurt pking for many reasons one of which being you couldn't pick up the weapon from a successful pk. I haven't even mentioned the problems with the skill itself yet. Before you use the "You're just bad" or "You never gave it a chance" argument, I'm 96 Dungeoneering on RS3. I actually liked the skill at first, the problem was it gets repetitive very quickly. Another issue with it is, its not a skill you ever use. Think about it, if they'd made it a minigame would the "Skill" be any different? No.

Still overgeneralizing. I got 99 on RS3, and found it to be one of the easier skills. There were also many problem with summoning, one of which was the beasts of burden. Instead of taking one inventory of supplies people could take over two which changed a lot. One of these effect were that it trivialized the older bosses and turned the new bosses into a battle of attrition, which many see as a negative effect on the game.

To clarify I don't think these skills killed RS3 I think they changed it's direction. I appreciate the direction OSRS is taking so I'm against these skills because they will change that direction.

I don't need the levels to be able to read and understand exactly how all of the things worked, as stated in the post below your reply to mine. I'm excited for a new continent, but we don't need those skills back in this game, they just made it too easy. Just because I didn't have those levels doesn't mean I don't know how they worked or what they did to the game.

why always pking - murder.
here are my opinions
1. bonds , sof - treasure hunter, solomons = cheating
reason when using real money to get or transfer to runescape gold to give unfair advantage is cheating.
2. nmz and rune span and bon fire are all cheating.
3. you did 3 votes to get ftp worlds to get passed and not once did real summoning come up.
4. what about skills that are non combat minis like special creations that people can do as group for fun. just do not add clay tools for bonus free xp.
5. and killing 1000 stupid usless birds with no drops. is a crime.
6. i hate murders and want to be able to skill and have more skilling options. i cannot do wild diaries i have been obliterated by max combat people/ grrr this is annoying. make it were even in lvl 54 wild or 5 lvl diference can att you. or add revs to wild. or make just one world with no murder allowed at all. you have worlds with murder allowed in wild in all, and few allowed every were , but what about just one with peace.
