If you pk someone with tentacle whip you will only get the tentacle and the whip will disappear from the game? That would make pking a higher-than-whip valued item actually less profitable. That's ridiculous. Also it is not at all worth it to pay 130gp per whip hit for a mere 8 str bonus.

NOONE trains magic with combat spells from the regular spellbook. The smoke staff would save you a few fire runes (5gp ea) every cast, but you still need to pay for the deaht/blood rune. Nobody cares about it being 5% cheaper to cast fire wave. Did I mention it does nothing for slayer dart/godspells (can't wield godstaff)/trident, which are the only decent spells?

The necklace looks OK, but see above for why there won't be a large demand for it.

I've already posted an alternative boost to magic training with combat spells. Please see Quick find code: 322-323-866-65334326

A viable solution to the OP sot* and necklace combo would be to remove the stacking aspect of the necklace and make it have a certain chance, lets say 10%, to save all runes. As far as the whip goes, I don't think it would be too OP, the poison aspect of the vine whip in rs3 was always annoying though, wouldn't mind seeing that removed.

My only problem with the proposed new whip is the aesthetics. Octopus tentacles? What??

Read something in another thread that gave me another cool idea for it. A crystal shard drop of some kind that can be combined to make a.. wait for it.. Crystal Whip! It makes sense that it would degrade and is less prone to crude jokes than.. tentacles..

Occult necklace should have a negative prayer bonus, not a positive one. While carrying a SoT* and the necklace would be quite the risk I think that the necklace not having some sort of downside is a bit too much - make it function like the ancient staff did in years past, a damage boost with a faster prayer drain. Unless, of course, a 10% damage boost is added to the Ancient staff.

Seeing as the max hit for magic would be bumped up to 37, I don't see how that would be overpowered. Like seriously? The AGS can hit 80s, probably even 90s, the Dragon dagger can hit well into the 90s (at a very fast speed), the Dark Bow can hit 96s, yet magic hitting a 37 is overpowered... Yea that's ********.

I don't understand why people keep thinking that any boost to magic would be overpowered when it's easily the most underpowered form of combat in the game. I know someone will say "but magic can bind you" well so can the ZGS and melee can still max in the 90s. Magic seriously needs a boost if it's going to compete with melee or range, it's the only combat skill that is inefficient without using another combat style alongside it. Magic should be capable of handling PvP and PvM situations without the need of other combat styles to get kills.

I'm not sure if that max hit includes the Slayer helm (i) or not (hopefully not), but a 45% damage boost to magic on slayer would make it much more efficient, making it a viable option for slayer outside of the normal magic tasks.

^ How do you hit 90s with melee after using ZGS spec to freeze someone?

Magic is fine in PVP, with the freezing ability you can hit way more than 90 without being hit once when fighting a meleer not to mention you can heal yourself while doing damage and PVM just needs more bosses weak to magic.

Anyways, how can you even post here if you don't have P2P?
Edit: Nevermind, ur membership date is showing up now.. weird.

Behold, the hypocrite who maxed combat using NMZ, then gets it nerfed. :)
My goals are beyond your understanding

I was 85 slay and 99/99/high 80s within a month of OSRS with b gloves and all that jazz, I wouldn't really say I maxed combat using NMZ when I did 90% of it training slayer/on abby demons and probably would have maxed out completely if whips didn't drop to nothing

Yes I finished off maxing at nmz because I knew how overpowered it was and knew it would get nerfed.

Even before I started training at NMZ I said it should get nerfed.

Sorry you're mad that I pointed out a bug.
