What's wrong with using planks? They are a good way to remove money from the game and reduce inflation, not to mention unless your ship gets destroyed/sold you only need to build one ship only replacing it if you decide to upgrade to wood it is built from. I also doubt a ship would need more than 50 or so planks in this game.

These people seem to simultaneously want building a ship to be the best method of training but not be a method of training at the same time.

I like it so far, but the locations seem a bit "overdone". What do you mean by 'Southern tip of desert' ? I REALLY hope you don't want to add it just like that, but we will finally be able to get in Menaphos, PLEASE leave some space for potential quests and area expansion, don't just add ports every 10 levels until these areas are finished, what about ports in Zeah, or possibly Prifddinas/Eastern Morytania - if they will ever be released?

Here's my feedback:

Bringing Sailing into OSRS will most likely mean the end to my OSRS career. I started playing ALL OVER AGAIN so that I can play OLD SCHOOL. This new skill is the beginning to something we've encountered before: Fall of the Runescape as we know it. I'm already unhappy about some of the content in OSRS, but up to this point most updates were useful and needed.

This new skill is simply against what people wanted to bring back in the first place: Old School Runescape.

It MUST be polled, and when it is I hope it doesn't get the required 75%.

NO to game changing updates!

This is MY feedback.

It wouldn't even get that much voted. and it should be polled over a year period of time and set to 90%

This skill does sound like a lot of fun but to be honest the majority of players choose Old School for the reason of nostalgia, so adding a new skill defeats the purpose of playing this version. If I wanted to deal with an overflow of updates I would play RS3.

If this skill does go through I think it needs to be voted on and it shouldn't become an integral part of the game such as Summoning and Dungeoneering did, changing all aspects of the game with the introduction of these skills is what turned many players away from the game in the first place.

Obviously the new skill should have some quests associated with it but, they should be reasonable and solely for the purpose of expanding the skill and not be a requirement for "every" new skill to come out. Maybe add a quest to start the skill and then a few more to expand the skill and add new areas. I also don't want it to become a skill that requires every other skill to train. It should be a separate skill that can be trained on it's own.

With that being said; I would be excited to see how it expands the game, allows faster travel, fun minigames, potential loot and the ability to fight monsters and travel areas I wouldn't normally be able to as a pure or skiller.

Still dont get how after a priority poll to say that Zeah was the player bases top interest for the year to come that we get **** like deadmanmode and sailing to waste more time and detract from it. I view it as a crime to gauge what players want and then only give it to them 2 years down the line. Makes me cringe.

I'm asking myself why are you guys adding so much unneccesary stuff too it.
I was very excited by the idea of sailing, because when I think of sailing I see the sport-sail ships. Why does it has to be so much of a pirate-like related skill. Ofcourse would it be a great addiction, but can't we just sail in normal boats, maybe for more skilled sailers even catamaran.

Thereby it would be even a better addiction if you guys would think about sail-related fashion items. Finally the introduction of polo shirts? Ralph Lauren design caps? Bodywarmers, Gaastra jackets, etc. It's something to think about. We got alot of pirate related stuff from clue scrolls and Mos Le Hammes already. So why not also introduce, when sailing will come, sport-sailing clothing?

I hope you guys will think about this also.
