I do not think that eoc people who do not play os, should be able to vote on our updates.
I think our updates should be private

.I'm calling on you jagex to make some kind of limitation with requiring os levels or something ,to be able to vote

.I heard some people discussing that they would get their friends from eoc to help sway the vote.

This is entirely not fair

.If you don't play the game , you shouldn't get to vote..

In fact you shouldnt even be reading about our polls or updates if you dont play the game.

Jagex..can't we finally get our own forums to avoid this in the future?

So many 'no' votes in this thread alone, I can't see where anybody would think it's a good idea to just toss such random crap into the old game. Obv anybody interested in the long term health of the game wouldn't shove this down the throats of so many who clearly don't want it.

Poll it so it can fail already.

So many of these 'No' cite the reason as sailing was a joke and this doesn't feel old school enough. They seem more like a no response on reflex rather than refuting a problem with sailing. Even if it isn't perfect right away it can be moulded into something better.
Long term health relies on new content, look at RSC.

The reason(s) behind any 'no' vote is/are absolutely irrelevant. They need not justify their 'no' vote. They need only vote 'no' and sailing fails.

To say that it can be molded to suit everyone after the fact is asinine. We don't need another NMZ.

Do you want rares 'in some form'? 'Yes!' and they passed, but not like what a large chunk of the player base wanted (but they got what they voted for).

That was a shame on jagex moment. It was deceitful to offer 'some form' without full details.

Now you want players should just vote 'yes' to sailing on the premise that it can be modified later? A snowball has a better chance in hell (unless I'm seriously underestimating the intellect of this community).

I highly doubt 'all' the no voters are entirely opposed to new content as much as they are opposed to content that lacks enough detail to convince anybody that it would be 'good for the game'.

The proverbial ball is in jagex's court. They can try to offer enough detail to sway votes in favour of it, or they can continue to copy/paste answers they provide on reddit into the forums.

Bottom line tho, is that nobody has to have a reason to vote no.. they simply do it and sailing fails.

There are already requirements in place. Something like 280 total levels in order to vote?

Yeah, private forums? No thanks, I like reading about both games sometimes.

I do not think 280 levels are enough to prove that you play the game.

280 levels can be obtained in a very short time.

If you don't play the game, you shouldn't be able to interject on our blogs or vote.

If you play os, then its not a problem. By all means contribute.

If you don't play os, you opinions shouldn't be considered on os blogs.

If you play both games and wanna read about both games then it would be just as easy to login and read.

I for one..absolutely hate eoc in every way and would much prefer our forums to be separate so I do not have to go to the eoc site.

I know many other people feel the same way.

Os has grown greatly and I think we deserve our own forums.

Literally every time I come back to give runescape another shot, the mess it up with terrible ideas.
This is supposed to be old school runescape.
If you wanna sail, or play some wow style game, play rs3....
They ruined it, let's not ruin this for another time...
Will be seriously disappointed if this actually happens.

Instead of this, focus on more important issues. Which I shouldn't need to tell you.

I don't think sailing is the key, and to the guy that brought classic into this.... Must not know what he is talking about.
I have been playing since classic started.

I know the deceiving tendencies jägex has to offer, and what the player base can mess up too.

This isn't a good idea, not even a good joke....
There ARE masses of things jägex can do, to update this game.
Let's start with the servers?
Then work on a coin dump not requiring such a horrendous idea...
Then how about we move onto different updates to be worked on.
If you want sailing in rs3, take it. But in old school, I don't want it.
And to make it a skill which forces anyone and everyone to do it, is really unfair, considering the fact that is is supposed to be "old school"
Like I said, there are to many things jägex can be doing to better this game for us, than just pumping out junk content, flooding the market, intentionally.... And expecting us to be happy.
This is a pitfall.
Mark my words.

I myself am still undecided on an update as large as this? when there are still so many other areas of the game that could be fixed; i like a previous post where someone suggested certain items need a new life.

The tendency seems to be that most new updates fall so short of the communities expectation an it would only be fair to poll these type of things for persons with high combined levels.. as in the long run it is these people who are loyal and attract the newcomers to aspire to be such levels and experience.

I cannot see how sailing can be implemented with much usefulness and without bugs; why not trial it as a mini-game and update into unique skill providing it is popular and momentum is still there.

I for one am a supporter of the GE but; i missed the days of classic and os prior when you literally had to wait hour at time to get that piece of armour or equipment.. which just added to the whole experience and excitement of acquiring new armour.

I really think this update could be a deal breaker for many.. aswell as an influx of less loyal players.**** as a whole is bleeding and needs a breath of fresh air.. OSRS as far as i know has a larger fan base then EOC currently.

It is very apparent reading through the thread that many people don't want anything that isn't already in rs3. It may just be risk averse thinking, but we wont get anything new with this attitude as it is inconceivable for the community to vote on every little detail.

I would be up for having a server much like the tournament ones to try new major content like sailing before voting.

But why should this tiny dev team spend countless hours designing something that is currently destined to fail a poll?

Have they nothing better to do than design content that won't pass a poll? Without even polling it first?

The few resources this old game has should NOT be used for content that cannot be expected to pass a poll.

I agree it's a realistic expectation that they could provide beta testing on potentially new content.. but only after and IF it passed a poll first (otherwise, it's wasted dev time that could have been spent in any number of ways that would benefit the old game).
