Seriously, we don't want sailing. Want to do something productive? Release summoning with a few adjustments. I play oldschool for a reason, and a lot of people can back me on this.

I think quitting runescape is probably the most productive thing anyone who plays can do. Why are you so insistent on just repeating what rs3 already has?

Oh wow, I can only see this ending 2 ways.. Hated by all not MAXED, but tolerable since we don't want to have our 2 years+ playing OSRS to go to WASTE AGAIN... Oooor RIP OSRS 2016! I knew OSRS was too good to be true.

First thing I thought of when i read, "Dev Blog: Sailing" its not April 1st. What is going on? Is this seriously up for a poll?

Yea it will help the skilling aspect of people wanting more from it, but not something you did as a joke before. Maybe shed some light to skill in the Zulrah area somehow, but how I cannot think of.

If this was to pass, which its likely not to, all its going to do is get one more skill to 99 and a whack load of bank space for items to achieve said skill. I will be voting no.

Other side; in my opinion, the skill would need to be something that is not been on rs3, (dung, summon, etc) but beneficial to another skill. I have not thought of one but maybe the community can help. That is a tough task, lots want different things but someone is bound to have a good idea.

Thanks for reading, GL

No thanks to a new skill - i play old school for a reason was to avoid all the crap RS3 did with all the new skills they added. Also the updates i did not agree with what caused me to quit. Old school was the reason i came back to Runescape.

Seems like if this passes the poll this will be going the same way as RS3 did, and instead of wasting more time better get it over and done with before this does turn into RS3

to those say I think this will be a "forced skill" - which will inevitably fall into a minigame style skill - read my very basic concepts on 71/72. This could so easily become a skill very similar to Construction! Just with a few perks such as a nice Ship to have "Ship Parties" on, a very interactive ship, and a few exclusive places only sailing can reach - it would encompass other skills to help train it, but then so does Construction? You need Smithing to build armour sets, Runecrafting and Quests to fill your skills/quests halls, but in the end you're proud of your POH! Sailing would be the same, but with nice travel perks!

I can see another possible way for it to go. The skill being liked by the majority and the player base growing as a result. The skill could be a lot of fun and enjoyed by a majority of players especially if players give feedback to improve the idea before it is made.

I see a lot of potential in this skill.

I have a lot of ideas which I think would make the skill fun.

I'd like to fish from my ship in the ocean, explore, trade in different ports and try to make a profit, hunt down NPC pirate ships, skeleton crew ships, ghost ships, dive for sunken treasure from ships that were lost at sea, try diplomacy on new islands, watch youtube videos of PVP wars in the wilderness seas, find new plants, herbs, trees, fruits, fish, ores, gems, monsters, and more while visiting new areas.

I personally would like to be able to travel to old and new areas in my own ship, and use the main map, with some instanced areas and random events.
Hi.

First of all, call it Exploring, for exploring sounds much more charismatic. for example, is hunter was called something like trapping or something it would suck. secondly, I hope it wont be like dungeoneering, but more like a real skill. Instead of adding new overpowered weapons to the game, add supporting things to improve skilling pleasure and decrease training time. The overpowered items are a big part in not liking RS3. If the sailing skill is gonna be like player owned ports, then let it be POP and not an actual skill. dont add a skill to a game just so you could say we added a skill. Just like firemaking, I think it will be useless. Also the skill we also got is called construction. while we are actually only building our own home. Why not add all that to the crafting skill, but instead, make an apart skill for that. -.- . Also runeCRAFTING. making an apart skill for that, could have added that to the crafting skill either. What I am trying to say is. Make it an real skill, or dont add unneccesary content to the game.
