''It's not about being capable.''
Absolutely right.. it's not about being capable.. it's about being willing to think about the possibility that they wouldn't end up exactly how you wanted them to.
''I think you're silly to EXPECT people to think ahead and not just click the button 'Yes'.''
Silly to EXPECT that at least a portion of this community is more than 8 years old and willing to accept that the sun does NOT rise and set on their shoulders?
Silly to believe that every person voting had the opportunity to THINK before voting, and nearly all of that 85% CHOSE not to?
''I would put money on you not expecting that, but whether you'll admit to that or not is up to you I suppose.''
Not expecting so many people to blindly assume that things would end up exactly how they wanted it to?
NO. I absolutely did NOT expect so many would simply blindly click that yes button (I damn well didn't!). I gave the community MUCH more credit than that. I assumed they were ALL smarter than that. (looks like we were ALL wrong in each of our own assumptions concerning these items)
''And you believe that is correct? It shouldn't have been the supermajority.''
I absolutely, completely believe that the players were in the wrong here and that jagex did the best that anyone could have done given that so many players weren't even willing to entertain the possibility that it could end up in a way they didn't personally want.
It SHOULD HAVE BEEN (and was) a supermajority required for each and every poll question, because the PLAYERS DEMANDED IT!
''That's just one of the mistakes.''
A mistake owned entirely by the PLAYERS.
''I know you'll just say 'that's the rules etc etc.'. Doesn't change that they've ended up with the wrong outcome.''
You mean it doesn't change that it ended up in a way YOU don't want. It's not the wrong outcome when the rules are followed, even when one doesn't end up with what he wants.
Players insisted upon 75% and now they have to live with it. LMAO "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity" -Martin Luther King Jr.
